Dodger!! When the JRT is peering at you from behind the blanket and chattering at you, you can't sneak up behind her..... You'll just end up pushed off the bed.. Sandy's really taken with Dodger. They're wrestling nicely, sharing toys. Heck.. Even Maze did a play bow yesterday.

very mindless sunday

My brain is dead. I got no sleep last night at all. The dogs were jumping all over the camper trying to wiggle up to my nieces so I was constantly telling them to leave it and lie down. Bad dogs. I hope I get a nap today. At least I got the house clean before I left so I won't have to worry...

Keeping dogs cool on hot days?
Posted to: News & Entertainment
Here in Northeast Ohio the forecast is saying it will be in the 90s and humid most of next week. Ugh. But if this is hard for me to handle, how is it for my poor pooch? Zeke has long, black fur. Beautiful, but impractical for summer temps. My house heats up very quickly in the summer, and I don't...

Cool coats
Posted to: News & Entertainment
Dahlia is absolutely miserable in the summer heat and I found out that she has a hard time working at agility trials because she's so uncomfortable. At our last trial she refused to move on our last run (85 degree temps) and crawled into the shade. Someone recommended getting her some kind of cooling...

Saturday Chatting

I'm doing some laundry before we go to the office to set up a new computer. I'm mostly just sitting around while DH does the computer stuff. Last weekend I got a lot of filing done which was good since I always put that off. I'm taking my book today and hopefully that will help pass the time...

Finally Friday
Posted to: News & Entertainment
Phew. Fridays are typically short days for me, mostly service calls since not many folks want to spend money on Friday afternoons. Thank goodness. Once I finish my thing, will head to the office and we'll take yet another trailor full of newspapers to recycle and then hopefully I can come home and...

Thirsty Thursday Chat

Hope everyone has a good day planned. My nephew's 8th grade graduation is today, and I woke up w/my neck all stiff and strained. Making me feel nauseous and have some numbness in my hand, so I'm hoping the heating pad releases whatever tension is there. oye, haven't had one of these episodes...

6 yr. Old Dog Soiling Floor
Posted to: Training & Behavior
About a month ago, I adopted a non-neutered male Pomeranian from a couple who was moving. He was in bad condition.. No vet visits or grooming. He had poop hanging off his butt and his fur was matted and gross. My fiancee and I have been working hard to clean him up. We've bathed him and started shaving...

Dog Parks or other activity ideas?
Posted to: News & Entertainment
Good morning all. Rainy day here in Texas but much needed. For the past 3 years, I've had my dog Circle in agility training. We trialed a little, however, we mainly attended weekly classes and/or attended fun runs. Whatever we did, we were on the go 2-3 days a weeks on average. He loved it. Additionally...

Great Life food
Posted to: Nutrition & Exercise
Just bought some and I think I am liking it. Ingredients look awesome, except for the fact that the first ingredient is salmon instead of salmon meal. I may have read somewhere where the salmon is freeze dried, and that might make a difference, don't know. Anyone else try it?

Abused Animals Become Abusers
Posted to: Training & Behavior
There is a general acceptance that humans that are abused have a greater tendency to become abusers themselves. A recent study on boobies (don't laugh) finds that the same trend is observed in birds. Maltreated nestlings exhibit correlated maltreatment as adults: evidence of a "cycle of violence"...

I have never been on a forum and was looking for info about training my golden to jump through a hoop and stumbled accross this. I live in the North East and have a 16 month golden who has been a challenge at times and a sweet heart at others. I probably will not be here much. Just pop in once in a while...
