Whoo-hoo! Custom harness :)
Posted to:
News & Entertainment
I met a woman at our farmer's market yesterday who makes custom harnesses. Pirate is an odd shape, most harnesses rub him right under his front legs, so it's hard to find a harness that fits (like the Puppia harnesses! So cute, but they just don't fit!) It's my lucky day, though...

Parachuting dogs - for real?
Posted to:
News & Entertainment
Saw this article today: http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/campaigns/our_boys/article1447714.ece Apparently they're teaching German Shepherds to parachute jump out of airplanes? Pretty crazy. Story is complete with an amusing fake "photograph"!

Nick's Birthday Chewies
Posted to:
Nutrition & Exercise
A cookie recipe this time. My friend Laura came and farmsat for me this weekend and the previous week, on the same day, she and her dog celebrated their birthdays. Isn't that cool? I left a big baggie of these cookies for Nick in Laura's thank you bag. They were so stinky that I had to put the...

Is anyone here a member of the horse.com forum? If so have you been able to login to that website lately? I haven't been able to login for 4 days. Can anyone help? The website appears to be down. I didn't realize I was addicted lol.

The RAV4 Is a GREAT Dog Mobile!! (Plus See a Crate Platform)
Posted to:
News & Entertainment
I bought a 2008 RAV4 this past March. So far, I absolutely LOVE it!!! Of course, I've added several things to it to make it as dog friendly as possible. The dogs also seem to really enjoy it since it's so easy to get into and get out of. Plus, the AC is superb! I've had the windows tinted...

Training class frustration--How to handle this?
Posted to:
News & Entertainment
I want to start taking training classes with Jack again. We do have some training places in our area but the classes seem to be at times that I cannot do it--weekends are best and it seems like lots of trainers don't do classes on the weekends. Therefore, for now at least, I am looking at Petsmart...

The needs & capabilities of present and future dogs
Posted to:
News & Entertainment
This came up in a conversation with my DH the other day when we were discussing (of course) Maremmas and various avenues for getting one. We moved on to the worst-case-scenario "what if we never get one" and were talking about what breed we'd get instead. I'm pretty sure I want to show...
