Daisy is Coughing

• Daisy is Coughing daisyprincess Posted : 7/21/2008 1:41:44 AM  Once again I'm worried about Daisy she'll be 12 next week and she's been coughing alot and sometimes sounds as if she's choking. Should I take her to the vet? Any suggestions on what I can do other then then me taking her to the vet? • calliecritturs Posted : 7/21/2008 7:05:18 AM Coughing can be the symptom of a few things -- some of which aren't good and you need to *know* in order to treat them.  1.  Heartworm - has she had a heartworm test this year? 2.  Heart -- this can be something you **need** to know in an older dog in order to treat it.  Left UN-treated she could die far far earlier than she should.  Meds, if that's what it is, aren't expensive but needed. 3.  Kennelcough -- again it's not hard to treat, but left to just worsen, it could be deadly if it turns into pneumonia or such.  Vet -- as soon as possible.  Whenever a cough lingers more than a day or so they need to see the vet. 0 LIKE Like Share You have posted to a forum that requires a moderator to approve posts before they are publicly available.
