Catch ya later! (Liesje)
Posted to: News & Entertainment
In a few hours we're leaving for a two week vacation. Dogs are coming, cats are staying (in-laws are checking in and/or staying in our house while we are gone). My new puppy will likely be born while we are gone so hopefully I can get to an Internet cafe and also catch up on iDog. I wish I could...

A note to our beloved cats and dogs......
Posted to: News & Entertainment
To be posted VERY LOW on the refrigerator door - nose height. Dear Dogs and Cats: The dishes with the paw print are yours and contain your food. The other dishes are mine and contain my food. Please note, placing a paw print in the middle of my plate and food does not stake a claim for it becoming your...

Think she'll make a good nanny dog?
Posted to: News & Entertainment
My great aunt has commented on how well Rory is going to do with the new baby......despite the fact that Rory has been heavily socialized with kids from day one. Anyhoo here she is last weekend with our god-daughter. This was after 2 hours of poor Rory enduring "Rory, come here, Rory, come play...

Non-dog: BUGS!!! (Liesje)
Posted to: News & Entertainment
I've got a new fascination with bugs! Unfortunately, I live in the city so cool ones are few and far between. Hopefully I will find some better ones on vacation. Bumble bees are the best, they usually linger on the flower and do little poses for the camera, plus you can knock them with your lens...

Coke got a bath & some other dog friends...
Posted to: News & Entertainment
Now that I'm satisfied with Coke's groom job, his hot spot has healed, and it's been a week since Frontline application, I decided to give him a bath before vacation. The area around the hot spot was still a little stinky and his head gets greasy from so much petting. He hasn't had a...

My dear 12 1/2 year old sheltie girl is really having a hard time. I just would like some prayers for her and some prayers for me to do what is best for her. I can tell it's getting to be that time. :(

At the campground with Lacie
Posted to: News & Entertainment
This afternoon we went to a campground to meet some friends of ours who had been there for a couple of days - they invited us to come hang out for a while, have a cookout. We brought Lacie along, our black Standard Poodle. THey had their dog there as well, a black lab mix. He's a nice boy but totally...

Beef formulas
Posted to: Nutrition & Exercise
I rotate foods and am looking for a nice Beef formula. The only ones I can think of are Solid Gold "MMillenia" and Nature's Variety's Beef formula. What do you think of those 2 formulas? Do you know of any others? (With or without grain).

rwbeagles-Lily SPLIT her tooth!
Posted to: News & Entertainment
You all know, she jumped off a 10' springboard at the end of swimming class last night. She said "her tooth hurt" after and insisted it was loose. I wriggled it and to me...it's in there tight...it's not a permanent one tho. Fast forward to this morning...still complaining and...

Recieved a WARNING Bark from a GSD.
Posted to: News & Entertainment
I want to know what everyone thinks about this situation I was in tonight. I was out for my nightly walk (by myself, I take my dog earlier for a shorter walk as he can't handle long walks in summer). I was coming back home after walking for nearly an hour. This was around 10:00pm. I'm walking...

Question about bones....
Posted to: Nutrition & Exercise
I was wondering....since my Callie is on a diet and I can only give her between 500-600 calories per day...would giving her a raw bone to chew on in her crate, for bordeness and teeth cleaning, compromise her diet at all? Would I need to give her less food if I give her just a raw bone? (She currently...
