Coke got a bath & some other dog friends...

Now that I'm satisfied with Coke's groom job, his hot spot has healed, and it's been a week since Frontline application, I decided to give him a bath before vacation. The area around the hot spot was still a little stinky and his head gets greasy from so much petting. He hasn't had a bath in months. I do it myself at the petstore in a professional tub with a high velocity dryer. Afterward, we picked out marrow bones and he got a new collar. His old collar stretched out. I like the rolled leather for the summer because it doesn't tangle his fur. I picked an orange one to match his red markings (old one was black). Some of these pics are weird b/c my camera always makes Coke pics more blueish.

Last weekend my cousin went to a boat show so she left her dogs at my aunt and uncle's house and my sister house-sat. Naturally, I invited myself over to use the pool.

I don't see Coke and Kenya in the pool. Didn't they get to play too?

Coke's new collar is a perfect color and he looks beautiful after his shampoo and dry.

I love Coke. He is so cute. The more photos I see of him, the more he looks like an Aussie mix to me.

Nope Sad I'd never met those dogs before so I wasn't sure about bringing my dogs over and didn't want to have to watch them every second. It's my aunt and uncle's house but they took their dog along and my cousin left her dogs there. Usually I take Kenya if it's my aunt's dog. I'm kinda glad I didn't take them b/c when I got there my sis wasn't there yet, I went in the back to see if the house was open and the dogs were gated. The back was really dark so I think I startled them. I got a lot of growling and teeth so I waited for my sis to show up and take them out. They were fine then but when my mom tried to come through the gate to the pool the black dog barked at her and showed teeth. Apparently the black one is really pushy like that (my mom said my cousin was complaining about him). He would growl and snap at me if I didn't throw the ball so I ignored him.

Bottom dog, WTH is it?? It's not just a lab, is it? It looks A LOT like Cherokee, in this pic at least. It's harder to tell now that Cherok's face is mostly gray, but when her face was solid black..yeah. In the pic with both black dogs' backsides, is it the one jumping in the pool? Cause when I first saw that picture, I was thinking it looked like Cherokee, and then I scrolled down and was shocked that the face looked like her too..

Coke's gorgeous as usual.. I had no clue he had a black tongue. Isn't that pretty indicative of him being either chow or shar pei (and therefore pretty obviously chow, lol)? Did we already suspect that? I know spots don't mean any specific breeds, but I thought solid black did?
