Coonhound Q&A!
vis a vis this post: http://forum.dog.com/asp/fb.asp?m=253540 That actually cleared a lot up for me, so thank you! I've been sort of going it alone on the coonhound front. I live in an area where they are quite rare (I've seen exactly two others--a blue tick and a gargantuan mutant walker...

MinPin/J.Russell
She was an oops and I "rescued" her tail the day of docking, she just happened to be attached! [ ] I was wondering in the whole wide dog world out there if anyone had this cross. I saw a "mini-jack" site one time but I'm not advocating cross breeding. And I favor the Parson-Pinscher...

German Shorthaired Pointer...is this normal?
Found Beau's first baby tooth on the floor last night...he is 4 mos! Also, he is growing by leaps and bounds, but you can see his ribs if he sits or lays a certain way...basically he seems very lean. He doesnt appear to be TOO skinny or anything, but I was just curious if as a breed they are somewhat...

Cocker owners- neutering question
Do any of you, Cocker owners, experienced behavioral changes in your dogs after neutering? I read that some Cockers might turn into fear biters... since some individuals are fearful - it's like they need all the testosterone they can get. Did your dog's behavior change? How?

fear of specific breeds?
I've noticed from talking to people, that almost everyone is afraid of a specific breed of dog. When i tell people i have a GSD, i am shocked at how many people tell me that they are afraid of them. I have a friend that was attacked by a black lab, and had to have over 70 stitches in her face, so...

Czech lines GSD
As you all know, i'm on the search for a dobe. I wont get one until i move in about 1.5-2 years. My boyfriend said that he wants to get another GSD after my dobe pup is older. We'll have over 30 acres, so i wouldn't mind having one more dog. I really like the looks of the czech lines GSDs...

Any guesses on breed?
So I just got my pup, Levi, a week ago from Dogwatch. He's sooo gorgeous but me and my sis are still tossing up several breed mixes to figure out what he is. He's 6-8 mths old, and about 17kg (37lbs approx?) at the mo. The people at Dogwatch had him down as a boxer cross, his vet records had...

English Pointers?
Just wondering how rare solid orange pointers are ? Can you expect to pay more for one than a different coloured pointer? What are people's experiences with pointers?

Submissive Akitas?
Okay, my entire life, I've heard/read that akitas are always super dominant, super dog aggressive, etc. That they're always incredibly confidant, self-assured dogs, that they're inscrutable, willfull, etc. Basically, everything that Gina says about them is what I'm constantly reading...

GSD enthusiasts...
I am constantly asked why Kaiser's back isn't sloped. Could it be a sign that he's poorly bred? He was a surprise gift for me after my RR died, and i know he came from a BYB. I'm gonna post a few pics that i have of his body. by the way, i think he's about 2 inches above standard...

Best guess on foster puppies?
I'm currently fostering two of these little guys- the merle on the left and the tricolor in the middle. Mom looked like an Eskie mix (cream/white, spitz ears and tail, medium length coat) or very small husky X. Dad is unknown. Aussie is possible, but they're TINY- 4 and 5 pounds at 12 weeks.

So I'm trying to Guess...
This is JD. He'll be 3 in August. I saw his mom when I picked him up (she was a PB GSD) They said he dad just wandered in...they said lab..not sure I really believe it. This picture was taken in 2005. This one was taken about a month ago while he was taking up the habit of being a mountain...

Boxer - new to forum; quick question - clothing
Hi All - I'm new to this site and am looking for a recommendation. We have an 18 month old boxer who is approximately 21" length and 28" girth. We keep running into problems finding him a winter coat, the last one I bought was too big and the one before that he outgrew in 2 weeks. Before...

considering a bull terrier
Hi All, I am a single male, and I own my own house. I love dogs and I think I will get a dog sometime next year, preferably during march (when I have a few weeks off to train - I'm a teacher) or in the summer. I mentioned the house and single because of the breed I am considering. I would...

Why Did Certain Breeds Become Popular?
I was just on the Bernese thread and it got me thinking. How did it happen that some breeds got so much more popular than others, even when they are very similar? If you ask someone who knows a little bit about dog breeds, they usually know what a Bernese Mountain Dog is, but very few know what an Entlebucher...

Two New Puppies
I'm unsure of the breed so I thought I'd see if you guys had some insight. They're about three months old. They're rescue dogs and sisters. The dark one is Smokey and the tan one is Sadie. They appear to have webbed feet much like the labs I grew up with but from what I've read...
