    Claire,

Thanks!  She's a field bred lemon-head.  What a sweet heart she is!  Does Jazzie do a funny snuffly dance thing when he's excited?  My friend who is heavy into bird dogs call it the pointer tap dance.

    Rowdyval,
Thanks!  I love your picture of Hawk.  Sooooo handsome in his bandana! Pointers Rock!

    Hawk thanks you.
Hawk does that dance when I say ok boy lets go.  He pounds his front feet on the ground really fast and goes to a heel postion.

Lots of breeds have males that seem overly thin as they are growing and developing-looking like giraffes-all legs-gangly-it usually means that the bones are growing faster than the muscle and tendon can keep up.  Plus puppies are bundles of energy, and certain breeds, like sporting dogs remain very energetic into adulthood, so they are constant motion and burning off what they are eating.  As long as you use a good quality puppy chow with proper nutrition and your vet is happy with the pups progress, don't worry.  It should resolve itself in adolescence when the hormones kick in and the muscle bulk starts to develop.  I haven't ever known german shorthairs to be overly bulky in any case-lean is the desired conformation.
