    Do they shed?

Do the Wirehaired Pointing Griffon shed or have pet dander?
    • Gold Top Dog
essentially terrier coats, they dont shed so much as need to be stripped.

Just to add though, ALL dogs (all animals) have dander. What many people are allergic to with dogs and cats is not the fur or hair, but the dander and saliva. And there isn't a dog or cat on the planet that doesn't have dander and saliva. Dander is essentailly dead skin (if you've got skin, you've got dead skin fallling off you all the time).

Dogs with nonshedding coats don't tend to leave as much dander and saliva in their wakes as shedding dogs, but they still have it.

Indeed they do, but probably not to the same extent as softer coated breeds, because a courser, wiry coat usually needs to be groomed with a shedding blade or some other sort of stripping device.  You probably won't notice a great deal of fur being shed around your house if your are regular in your grooming habits, but if your aren't diligent, the matting of the wiry fur can get quite bad and uncomfortable for your dog to have sorted out.
