German Shepherd pound puppies...possibly purebred?
These two are shelter pups that were picked up in the country as strays. They look very, very German Shepherd. However, while it's possible for them to be purebred, they do have a couple of distinctions that make me think they're mixed. 1. Their heads are not large compared to their bodies...

I absolutley fell in love with a frenchie this weekend. I have always thought they were super cute, but have never been around them. He had an awesome personality! I don't know of anyone on here that has one, but does anyone know a lot about them? They're pretty small, so i might keep my mind...

Anyone know what a English Shepherd is?
I own an English Shepherd and a Sheltie X (rescue). Everytime I talk to my neighbor behind me he asks what type of dog my ES is and I tell him. He always says well it must be half Border Collie and I tell him they are similar but it bugs me that he wont stop telling me it is half BC! What should I do...

German Shorthaired Pointer info needed
Been looking at the local SPCA and they have a German Shorthaired Pointer there. Very nice dog, quiet and sweet, white and liver spots. Can someone give me some info on them? I've read that they very energetic. How do they do with morning and afternoon walks and a couple days of romping in a large...

Bernese Mountain Dogs and Golden Retrievers
What are they like -- grooming, training, behavior and such? How much exercise do they need? I've always thought they were beautiful dogs. In addition, with Golden Retrievers, how different in temperament are they from Labrador Retrievers?

any quesses?
Hello everyone, Any guesses on my Chevy. I've been told what he is but I have some doubts. For one, my vet says she'd bet money that he has a breed in him that I wasn't told about so I want to see what you guys think.

A true mutt (more pics added)
Ok we know for sure that this girl's mom was a lab x basset hound. You pretty much can't see either breed in her I thought they were lying when they said that but the person who brought her into the pound bred the dogs and the mother was definatly a lab x basset hound lol. What would you guess...

If You Had Only Known...
I know everyone loves their dogs, but is there one thing about your breed of dog that you wish you had known before you got it? I'm thinking of the people who didn't realize that terriers dig, or that herding dogs nip kids' heels, etc. What was the most trying breed-related thing that you...

The SKINNY on Aussies
I am so glad to see more Aussie owners on idog and thought I would ask if they are what you expected? Personally I was a little hesitant getting an Aussie as my first dog. From my research I expected a dog that was extremely high energy, needed a job, was aloof and stand offish with strangers, eager...

still trying to decide what she is!!!!
aside from being adorable, smart and sweet!!! Any more guesses? She is right around 16 weeks now, weighs in at around 19lbs, seems to have the desire to herd a little bit, and has an excellent tracking device! Her bark sounds very herding dog-like, but her body shape looks sort of stocky in the shoulder...

Just another 'what breed is she' thread
I adopted Aly from a low kill shelter about two years ago. They'd gotten her from the original owner who felt he could no longer care for her. She'd just had knee ligament replacement surgery. I took her to the vet that she had previously been a patient at, the ones who had done her surgery,...

What breed would you like to have?
If you had unlimited time, money, and space - what breed or breeds would you like to share your life with? My son Joey has announced he wants a toy poodle. It would be the perfect dog for him. Wah, no more room at the inn. My hubby wants an Irish Wolfhound. Ditto no room. But it suits him so much...
