Just another 'what breed is she' thread

I adopted Aly from a low kill shelter about two years ago. They'd gotten her from the original owner who felt he could no longer care for her.  She'd just had knee ligament replacement surgery.  I took her to the vet that she had previously been a patient at, the ones who had done her surgery, and they had her listed as a Corgi mix.  I definitely see some Corgi resemblance, but we also always called her our little dingo.  Looking in to Cattle dogs a bit, I feel like she could perhaps be a Cattle Dog/Corgi mix?  She's got all the herding instincts of both those breeds, always nipping at your heels when she gets playful.  She's a very mellow, affectionate dog, but quite a barker if she hears something outside or someone knocks on the door.  She weighs approximately 40lbs.  She's the most amazing companion.  I'd love to know what breeds everyone thinks she could be.

Actually, I'd guess she's mostly to all corgi, just not a well-bred one. She's very cute!

Isn't 40lbs a bit too large to be all Corgi?

AKC has Corgi's listed at around 25lbs for Pems....up to 30lbs for cardi bitches. Having seen a true papered and researched 15lbs chihuahua (they are supposed to be 6lbs)...once people start breeding with no regard for standard ANYTHING is possible within even one breed.

Oh yes and I've also seen some HUGE Beagles...in fact I believe they are more common than even a properly sized 15"...let alone my 13"s
A 16-18" Beagle that weighs over 40lbs...seen it...and seen the paperwork to prove it's "all Beagle" [;)]

Yep, my poorly bred, BYB chihuahua is NINE pounds...and a skinny 9 pounds, too. If I could get him to eat enough to fill out some, I'd bet he'd top out at 11 pounds or so. Size can definitely range pretty widely within a breed, especially a breed that's popular with BYBs.

I agree she looks Corgi all the way to me.

I don't see all Corgi - I think she is a Corgi x Beagle mix.

I agree definatly not all corgie those legs are way too long.  Could be cattle dog like you said in there as well.

Besides cute, I agree with Anne.  She looks Corgi/Beagle to me.

We have a family with three beagles (and one very noisy lab)who often board at work. In spite of many weight loss speeches, one beagle is pushing 90 lbs[&:], another is in the 70s, and the third is catching up[&:] It's very sad. They're certainly all beagle...just very, very heavy ones[&:]

Thanks guys!  I am starting to lean more towards the beagle side than the cattle dog side.  I took a look at some pictures of other Corgi/Cattle dog mixes and they didn't look much like my Aly.  Glad you guys think she's cute.  [:)]
new to all this, but after researching breeds on my crew, i definitely agree with the corgi/beagle mix.  i just love corgis...i always said i'd get a corgi, but i guess God had other plans:)

I'm gonna side with the corgi/beagle guess too!
