still trying to decide what she is!!!!

aside from being adorable, smart and sweet!!!  Any more guesses? She is right around 16 weeks now, weighs in at around 19lbs, seems to have the desire to herd a little bit, and has an excellent tracking device!  Her bark sounds very herding dog-like, but her body shape looks sort of stocky in the shoulder area with thin legs.  She is starting to get feathering behind her legs and her tail is starting to get more fluffy.  She barks a lot when she gets excited or when people come to the door.  Loves to fetch, and again...really very smart!

I think you've got some Sheltie mixed in there, that face just screams Sheltie to me.  Plus the barking just really clued me in!  When people came to the door, there was no stopping my Sheltie from letting me know, he was VERY vocal about everything.  As far as what else, it's hard to say.  Those front legs are really throwing me off, they don't look like herding dog legs.

She looks quite a bit like my brother's Brittany Spaniel pup.

Man, she's still the sweetest thing going!  I see a little Golden Retriever there, and maybe some Sheltie.

I'm really surprised no one has said Australian Shepherd. I see A LOT of Aussie in her. Her head and ear shape are very Aussie. They also get fluffy with feathering. And her personality is very Aussie- they're herding dogs.

the rescue people guessed aussie, mostly based on the fact that her brother and one other sister were a sort of red merle look.  They looked more aussie than she and another one in the litter that looked just like she does.  Her snout is kind of long, which makes me wonder what else is in there.  I teeter back and forth between thinking she's part sheltie and part aussie.  A lot of people mention Jack Russell too...but she's already close to 20lbs at just 4 months, so I don't know about that.  I think this is part of the fun of a mixed breed dog!

From her markings, coloring and size I would have ventured that there is some great pyr in her.

I would have thought that too, but she doesn't have any dew claws on the back, and our last dog was a Pyr mix and she is nothing like her.  I love pyr's though, and someday want another!

God's way to insure survival in puppies and kittens and even children-make them terminally cute, so that no matter how upset you become, the adorable little face will melt your heart and your anger right away.   She is just gorgeous

so true, I mean, how could you get upset at that face!!

But being that she is a cross the dew claws could just be a trait that she didnt inherate.
now that is ONE cute pup!

I say she is definatly part sheltie because I have a sheltie mix (rescued) and the resemblance is stuning! She might be part aussie too! Who knows with a rescue dog!
