Fresh Carrot Treats
This isn't a fancy treat but Rey is crazy about it right now. I just cut some carrots into thick rounds, steamed them until they were tender, rinsed them with cold water, put them in a ziplock bag and then sprinkled some chicken bouillion and parsley flakes (for fresh breath, hee hee) on top. I keep...

Improving a dog's coat thru diet
Hi all, I am wondering what supplements and in what amounts I can give Riley to help improve his coat? He's 2 yrs old and 70 lbs. Also, what food brands/"types" (like chicken versus lamb, etc.) are good for improving coat quality? Thanks a lot.

Video -- Kaiser & Luke weaving
Now that I'm finally figuring out how to use my movie editor, I'm going crazy with video. Last night I decided to video weaves to assess performance and see what needs tweaking. Kaiser's weak spot is definitely his entrances -- he needs to stick tighter to the first set of poles and not...

Calcium Levels
A friend of mine asked my opinion on what she was feeding her dog (Beneful! Yikes!). I directed her to the dogfoodanalysis, and dog food project sites, and I told her that I was currently feeding Merrick. My girls are doing well on it. I do plan to continue the transition to raw though. She got some...

Kaiser is a Champion!
Kaiser's first conformation show (UKC) was this past weekend up in Minneapolis, MN! We had four Klee Kai total -- two "class dogs" (one being Kaiser) and two dogs with their GRCH (Grand Champion). Kaiser did *GREAT* and the judges really loved him! He was the only male class dog, so he...

how much should I feed?
Kira is 12 weeks and 20lbs. The one bag (which we're down to using at a ratio of 25%) says 2 3/4 cups a day. The bag of the newer stuff she's on says 3 1/4 to 3 3/4 cups. Right now, she probably gets closer to 2 3/4 plus training treats and some canned food in her Kong at bedtime. She doesn't...

online retailers
If you can't find something here at dog.com, what is your favorite website for ordering food and/or other dog supplies? Right now I'm looking for canned food since not a lot of places close to me carry a decent selection, but shipping is high on things like this. Or supplements like fish oil...

confused about large breed puppy food vs. ALS foods
Do I want to feed the puppy a large breed puppy food, or is an ALS (all life stages) food okay? Ultimately, in a breed that grows large, how much protein should she be getting? I see the foods really vary from brand to brand, so that confuses me even more. Our puppy's current puppy food, which is...

Rate Your Dishwasher
I may not get one for a while, but I need a new dishwasher! The front panel is yellowing, the "normal" cycle button doesn't work, so I'm doing the power cycle and using too much water. I don't want to fix it because I suspect it will cost half what a new one is worth. I want to...

So I picked up 1lb of beef liver at the butcher shop...
Now what do I do with it? An agility friend of mine cuts it up and sprinkles garlic & cinnimon on it, then bakes it -- But I can't for the life of me remember the oven temp. or length of time. I think I've read on here that some people sautee it for a bit first, too. Tips? Once made, how...

Anyone used it, or know anything about it? I have been giving Tessa just salmon oil and brewers yeast tablets everyday...but a handler i know recommended my friend to put her golden puppy on the show stopper supplement. Kaiser's first agility trial!
Kaiser's first agility trial was this weekend. We entered a TDAA (teacup agility) trial, as they allow dogs over 12 months (he's almost 15 months) and in NADAC we have to wait until he's 18 months. Thankfully, I have video! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hrXJQXA4NO8 Only of Saturday, unfortunately...

Keeping the dog clean when it's muddy outside (conf.)
Kaiser's first conformation show is this weekend. The forecast looks absolutely miserable with cold rain and/or snow -- which basically means MUD, especially this time of the year. How, pray tell, do you keep a dog clean before going into the ring? His bottom half is completely white -- fairly short...

Doing a food trial (jennie_c_d)
Soo.... Emma's been having issues. Emma *is* an issue, LOL. I paid for a consult, for her, and made it almost to the end of four weeks. She looked good, feeling nice, had a skin infection. The vet put her on antibiotics, and she got sick. She associated the food with being sick, and quit eating it...
