4 month old German Shepherd vomiting and will not eat
Hi, I just joined this forum looking for help to treat my puppy. I have a 4 month old German Shepherd named man, who seems to have gotten sick, Friday. He was fine, and showed no signs of illness until friday at about noon. I keep him in the house, and while I was on the computer, he began vomiting....

toe infection?
Hello, I have a 16 month old mini doxie with wet, raw toes. The moisture is partly from licking but also some blood. The edges of the claws form a yellow crust when they dry out. He has been to the vet who can find no mites, bloodwork is all clean and we won't be able to hear about any possible...

Anti-neutering
There was a discussion on another board about neutering a few dogs to control their male-male issues (these are hunting dogs, kept in a group, kept intact until they are adults and their hunting ability is seen). Someone said that we shouldn't just neuter our dogs for no reason, blah blah blah and...

Very Worried! Dropped Baby Boy off at vet this morning.
We had our little guy neutered last thursday. He seemed totally fine Friday and Saturday. Sunday came he wasn't eating, but seemed fine. This morning however, he threw up bile 3 times. I didn't want to take a chance so I brought him in. He wasn't too happy to say the least. The vet said it...

Does the quick really shrink???
I have been told that if you trim a dogs nails frequently the quick will begin to shrink so that you can keep them shorter. Can anyone confirm whether this is true and how often do you need to trim the nails? I have two Beagles and I trim their nails with a dremmel every two weeks. They get regular...

Coccidia
Maya has coccidia. I've been given Corid to use in her water for the next ten days. Any thoughts? And should I be refridgerating the gallon of water mixed with Corid?

Hi, My 4 year old beagle was trying to jump into my lap and his missed [ ]. He couldn't jump on the couch or anywhere. I would put him up, my mistake, he had to jump down. Finally he started whimpering when he would stand and I know where he hurts. It is the area around the top portion of his...

sick puppy
I have had my puppy for almost 2 weeks. When we aquired him (at 8 weeks old) he was skinny, dehydrated, anaemic, and pot bellied. After only 3 days of simply feeding him up he gained 300g. (When he arrived he weighed just 1.5kg - he's supposed to be a labrador). When I took him to the vets for...

Heart Murmur
Today when Zoe and Mister went in to the vet to get rabies shots for their licenses, the vet noticed a murmur on Zoe's heart. She is a 2 out of 6, and from the x-ray's its not really something to worry about, yet. She suggested we visit a cardiologist, but we really have to think this over...

Stop the bad skin and excessive shedding
I have noticed a lot of posts in this area about bad skin and shedding. I have been using a holistic product for a year now that works wonders for both! It is called Hokamix and it is a blend of herbs that helps skin problems and stops the year round shedding along with many other problems and as part...

We had our little pup (Jackson) neutered this past Thursday. We picked him up Friday morning and he was fine, gorged his food down, where before he wasn't a huge eater. Yesterday, Sunday, the third day he didn' eat a thing all day. His energy seemed still there. Today he ate a little more. Should...

Tick!
I found a tick on my dog today and removed it. It had a grey backend. I was able to remove it and I have bagged it to take to vet. Anyone have any idea what kind of a tick this could be? I am not totally sure how long it was on my dog...I think it was there less then 48 hours. Any other suggestions?...

Eating Soap
Just wondered if anyone's had trouble with their dog eating Dove soap. This evening Madeleine decided to enjoy half of a bar of Dove soap. She's vomited once and is more than a little lethargic. She's still breathing [ ] and just wants to sleep. I'm thinking she's alright, but just...

Diatomaceous Earth
Okay, on another board a person posted that they had two good friends who had adopted heart worm positive dogs, and gave them Diatomaceous Earth and in 3-4 months they tested negative for heart worms and after a couple of years are still heart worm free. Well, I had never heard of that stuff until...

Has anyone heard of lupus in dogs? My lab, Sassy, has had skin infections since Jan. and they haven't responded to any antibiotics or prednisone. The derm vet is going to do a biopsy on Thursday. She mentioned that she was concerned it was ? and I thought I'd remember it and look it up (yes,...

Dog smells after going to dog park
Anyone else have this problem with their dog? I had given Boomer a bath on a Sunday. Usually he would be fine and not smell at all for many weeks. But a couple of days later we took him to the dog park and ever since we noticed he smelled. Could he have gotten this from playing with the other dogs...
