Tick!

Firestorm Posted : 4/18/2006 6:46:54 AM I found a tick on my dog today and removed it.  It had a grey backend.  I was able to remove it and I have bagged it to take to vet.  Anyone have any idea what kind of a tick this could be?  I am not totally sure how long it was on my dog...I think it was there less then 48 hours.  Any other suggestions?  I have an appointment with vet today for shots...what flea preventive do you think would be best...I have a rabbit that he gets near often her cage is out where his crate is.  Looking for something that would be good for dog and not toxic to rabbit.  LIKE 1 REPLY 540 VIEWS LAST POST PROBE1957 Like Share You have posted to a forum that requires a moderator to approve posts before they are publicly available. • probe1957 Posted : 4/18/2006 8:04:49 AM I don't think I would worry a lot about a single tick.  When I was a kid, we would pluck ticks off our outside dogs all the time, without incident. I am sure your vet will be able to recommend a preventive that is effective in your area and for your breed.  There are a number of good ones.  Frontline plus, Advantix, etc.  Ask your vet HOW what he recommends works and make sure you are comfortable with it. 0 LIKE Like Share You have posted to a forum that requires a moderator to approve posts before they are publicly available.
