Anyone ever heard of a dog just deciding not to drink water from her bowl?? She stands at it....looks like she want to drink......and then walks away. We had her at the vet and there is no problem with her mouth/teeth/ears/etc....we're syringing water into her until we can figure it out. Any suggestions...

Sick Dog
My 6 mo. old puppy has been throwing up foamy vomit. He's done this before but it's usually once and about once a month (at the most). But today he's thrown up 4 times (2 times they were a yellow color). I'm thinking it was probably just something he ate (he likes to chew on sticks)....

Steps taken when clipping dog?
I recently got some dog clippers and was thinking of grooming my dog myself. What should be done when clipping him? Should I brush him out first, give him a bath, dry him, clip him, bath him again, then dry him? thanks

Distressed Jack Russell
Possibly being a hypochondriac here, but after a long day at the beach our Jack Russell Charlie has been whimpering, wandering around the floor and looking lost which is pretty unusual. After a long run in the day he normally sleeps the whole evening but I just tried to pick him up and he was obviously...

What is the best age to get a puppy neutered/spayed?
What is the best age to get a puppy neutered? Will getting a  uppy fixed prevent him from 'humping'? I did a search on the old board, and it seems like 6 months is a good time. Thanks!

chlostridia
Has anyone's dog had chlostridia? And if so, what antibiotic has worked for it? My dog has mucous covered stools, so I assume he has not gotten rid of his chlostridia. He has been off of his antiobiotic for 2 days. He was fine while he was on it. He was taking Clavamox, after Metronidazole didn't...

Shih Tzu with dry skin
I just adopted a Shih Tzu with dry skin. He is clipped because when they got him he was covered in matts. I have been washing him once a week with an oatmeal shampoo and treating the dry skin with tea tree oil. Do you have any suggestions on what I should use to help his problem or what I should feed...

Pimples = allergy?
Maya has some pretty bad pimples (with some weeping and bleeding) under her chin. I had taken her to the vet and we did an antibiotic for 10 days and daily washing under her chin there was some improvement for a while. I then got into the habit of washing under her chin every other day. It seems this...

Bladder infection or injury?
I will try to condense this as much as possible. I've been off this board for a long time so I'll provide a little background info: Jake is an 8-year-old Brittany/GSD mix. He is 70 pounds of pure sillyness prone to bouncing off the walls and whining for hours on end if you merely *look* at the...

Owner caused injuries vs groomer caused injuries
Has anybody ever seen a report of any kind about the number of home grooming injuries that require vet care vs the number of professional grooming injuries that require care? I know we'd all like to say that no injuries happen, but they do. I've seen some pretty nasty issues from owners grooming...

Shedding!!!!!!
As most of you know I own dals. Most dal owners (including myself) have adopted the saying "Dalmatians shed once a year for 365 days"! I am looking for a product to reduce shedding. I know there is something called Shed X and another product called Dinovite. I was hoping that someone else had...

Q about the Furminator
I was using the Furminator on my cat today and my mom told me that the reason you get so much hair off the animal was because it is nothing but a blade that cuts the fur. She said she asked the groomer and they told her this. I am having a very hard time believing this. I even tried it on a small section...
