Recommendations on dog breeds? (long)

Hello, I am new to this site. I have been tossing around the idea of getting a dog for several years now. Since I have been in school for so long, I have not put much serious thought into the matter until now. I will graduate in just over 2 years, however, and at that time would be interested in bringing...

HI everyone. I apologise if this subject has been exhausted elsewhere- i did search the forums first! I'm making a journey soon which involves a four hour ferry journey and another 3 hours in the car, with my border collie cross. I've booked a dog-friendly cabin for the boat, but further than...

We just took him in on Saturday, he's 3 years old and a total love bug. He has such a sweet personality, I can't believe someone gave him up. According to the rescue, he was dropped off at the vet and never picked up! Except for not being neutered (this was just done last week), he's in perfect...

I wasn't sure where to post this but since I've discussed Sally's dog issues here before I decided this might be a good place. I had Sally out today to socialize her a bit. I was talking to this mother and her little boy and Sally was being a little timid but taking treats nicely and being...

"FREE TO good home, Yellow Lab, male 9 mos. hyper dog, but great temperment, must go to good home or will be put down" I just called the guy and the dog is gone. I've never seen that before. I can't believe someone would really say "give my dog a home or it's dead"...

HELP! Dog in crate started barking at night

I have a mini schnauzer that is 2 years old. He has been crate trained since a small pup and we have never had a problem with him barking/whining. A few nights ago he started barking at 3 a.m. after listening to it for a while I took him to the backyard to go potty. He did this then returned to his crate...
