Anyone who gives allergy shots
Posted to:
Health & Grooming
Just wondering. We've been giving Bogey bi-weekly allergy shots very faithfully and they seem to be working - slowly but surely. But, we ran out of the serum and after ordering more serum from the vet it will mean that we're skipping her next dosage. So, it means that instead of giving her a...

Biting Cocker Spaniel -- Please Help!!!!
Posted to:
Training & Behavior
I am worried sick about my female (2 year old and fixed) cocker spaniel dog. Penny has been a wonderful dog up until the last few weeks. Last week my mother (83) was trying to pull a tissue away from Penny and Penny nipped her. Thankfully she didn't break the skin, but she did break a blood vessel...

making him STAY!

I can't get Cyrus to sit still for me when he's in a "down" or "sit." He has to do these things for toys, food, treats, and occasionally petting, but now he's figured that if he is told "down," it's enough to drop and spring right back up and expect his reward...

collar/harness for dogs with small heads?
Posted to:
News & Entertainment
inspired by the harness post... Shenzi has a small head and is a Houdini dog...she can slip out of a harness! We have a collar on her now, but it's not that tight, she wears it for ID purposes. I pretty much never put a leash on her because she can slip right out. When we had a harness on her...

attaching lights to your dog - warning
Posted to:
News & Entertainment
I bought a product called Puplight for my dogs birthday a couple days ago in the local petco. We went to the huge local park right after to try it out. We didn't make it 30 feet into our walk when we were attacked by two nasty dogs. My mother (in her early 70's) was knocked over & landed...

I love my animal shelter!
Posted to:
News & Entertainment
I went back to my local animal shelter today after not having visited for many years. I used to volunteer there back when I was still living in the area. And my goodness, it is such a peaceful, nice, caring place. The buildings are surrounded by grass, with little paths winding around the property...

Bad bad doggie Mom...

I have no clue how I did this for so long...but I've been feeding Biscotti from Winnie's dish... I put the wrong one away! They are both blue ceramic with a dog design, but one is dark blue and the other light blue. And I was attributing her unenthusiastic eating habits (which is not that uncommon...

She has a fantastic groomer[ ] I'm very pleased with how she turned out, today. It was new, for both of us. I clipped her with a #10, in reverse, shaved off her whiskers, gave her clean feet, her normal Poodle tail, and painted her toesies. I love it!

How do I tell him?
Posted to:

You know how everybody has a colossal fear they're not sure they can over come? Well I've got two. 1. Spiders. Terrify the crap out of me 2. Telling this guy that I'm in love with him. They're both reasonably interchangable as they terrify me equally. The basic story is, I've...
