CET chews?
Posted to:
Nutrition & Exercise
my vet just recommended some CET chews for my dogs cuz he said that greenies are a little too dangerous, but the chews break down easier and do a much better job of cleaning their mouths. has anyone ever used these or have any thoughts on them? they just look like rawhides to me...

Sick as a dog... not sure what's wrong
Posted to:
News & Entertainment
My father has been sick with flu like symptoms since last Friday. His fever has been a constant 102 or a little higher. He's about 52 (I never remember his age), and smokes a pack of cigarettes a day. What's even worse, I am sick with the exact same symptoms. Mine started Tuesday afternoon...

tethering question
Posted to:
News & Entertainment
I know there was a debate recently about having dogs tethered up in the backyard, but this is a separate question. Let me just say first that there is NO CHANCE I will ever tether Ben up in the backyard and leave him there. However..... SO and I are big fans of the good, old fashioned picnic, and...

My dog is potty trained. He knows where to go, but sometimes, he starts sniffing the pad a little and misses by going on the edge of the pee pad.

Runt of the Litter?
Posted to:
News & Entertainment
Russell is now about 14 months old and he hasn't grown much for many months. He gained one pound between December and May and that seemed to be from just filling out a little in the chest. We get a lot of comments on how small he is for a cocker - people sometimes tell us we must have a "mini...

Yet another pit bull story
Posted to:
Rescue & Help
Our local CBS affiliate in Boston ran a story of a Pit attack in Brockton (lotsa drug dealers in that town). It seems a man tried to grab two loose Pits and take them back to their own yard. One of them attacked him. The guy is a dog lover, so apparently he thought he could just grab a Pitty by the collar...

prong?
Posted to:
Training & Behavior
I have a 6 month old puppy who absolutely will not behave on a leash. He pulls really hard and it's a bit obnoxious. I was just wondering if he was too young for a prong collar...I usually walk him and my GSD at the same time, so i will have the GSD in one hand with his gentle leader harness, and...

Here is Mika doing what she does best: absolutely nothing! [ ] She is my first dog (thank goodness I have all you i-doggers to help me out!), and she is absolutely perfect. It's only been a month, but I'm happy to say that she pretty much trusts me and has settled down.

dry roast pork bones

My dog won't eat rmb and raw meat. He just sniffed it and went away. I know rmb is good for teeth cleaning. Can I use Ham Bones (dry roast pork bones) instead? Will it do the teeth cleaning job? If I soak the rmb in boiling water for a little while to get rid of the raw smell, and the bone won't...
