Hair on ears disappearing...
Posted to:
Health & Grooming
Over the last week, Sasha's (German Shepherd) fur on her ears is starting to get thin, and there are some spots where there is no hair. Mainly on the very tips of her ears. We don't have fleas, Advantage takes care of that. I was thinking maybe mange? We've had her for almost two months...

I have a question. In my adult obedience class, a few of the dogs have a collar that looks lke a choker. Cloth on the outside, but a choker where the leash connects. What is its purpose? Should Toosie be wearing one of these?

dog parks in Toronto?
Posted to:
News & Entertainment
Please help! I've just moved from beautiful, dog-friendly Victoria to North York (Toronto). I need to find wide-open spaces where my dog can run, preferably with a lake for swimming. I'm also looking for a good vet and a pet food store that sells high-quality food. Any suggestions? ...

Talk about coming a long way

[ ] I was so proud of Riley last night I thought my face might crack because I was grinning from ear to ear. We were on our usual walk when two children from around the block approached us. They both sat in the grass and called Riley over to them. He looked at ME first and I said, "it's ok...

Question about Prescription Diet

Nutrition & Exercise
Hi all! We have a 4 mo old Rhodesian Ridgeback - Colby, who is currently on a four day diet of Hill's I/D (intestinal diet). He was on Solid Gold Wolf Cub (dry kibble) before, and started having loose stools (the ole soft serve effect) about three weeks ago. We figured the food was just too rich...

Okay, for the first time since getting Maggie (almost 6 month old gsd/siberian husky mix, they say) We had a BBQ/birthday party for my 9 year old nephew, so lots of people and kids with skateboards as you would imagine. I was a nervous wreck with how Maggie would behave and all. Much to my surprise...

The Itchies

I'm having problems with my 8 month old puppy. He's always itched from the day we got him (usually on his hip). I went on vacation and when I came back he had bald spots, and scabs where he had been scratching so much. For some reason my husband, nor my friends that helped take care of him noticed...

We have a 2 1/2 year old German Shepherd unneutered male that we've had since puppyhood. He has turned too aggressive and high energy for us (we have 3 other shepherds, so it's not the breed, just the dog) and we're wondering if the police departments ever accept donated dogs? It definitly...
