I got my Wedding Dress today!

I just thought I'd share.  I'm sooooooooooooooooo excited!  I'm not getting married until next June, but, you know.  Anyway here is a picture of it if it works:

My mom is going to make me a veil (well she's going to try).  I hope it works because that would be so great!

Wow! It's gorgeous. I never got to wear a nice white wedding dress like that. We only had a civil registration (long story) and by the time we did the church wedding, I was 5 months pregnant and didn't have money to get a dress. Oh well....not quite what I envisioned when I was a little girl. But I guess the marriage is more important than the wedding.

I'm glad you've still got lots of time to prepare. Must be so exciting. Thanks for sharing about your lovely gown. It is really very nice and looks like something I would have chosen for myself.

Oh, how pretty!  My bridesmaids and maid of honor all got their dresses at David's.  I couldn't find anything I liked.  I got my shoes there though, which I loved and were really comfortable.

I do like the A-line dresses like your's they always look so nice.

Congratulations!  The year will go by VERY fast.

It's beautiful! I really like the detailing on the front bottom. [:D]

I got my dress & BM dresses at David's, too. I was really impressed with their stuff.

    Awesome dress!!!

I got all my stuff at David's and cannot say that I was very impressed.  I had to really stay on top of them all the time, and the consultant they gave me had a serious listening problem.

    Better luck to you!!

Absolutely Beautiful! You are going to look stunning

Thanks everyone...I am just so excited that I had to share!  Now I have to wait almost a whole year to wear it. [;)]

I love your dress!  I think David's will give you a discount on your BM dresses if you guy them w/in a certain amount of time of yours so you might check into that.

When DH and I got married we paid for our own wedding and were on a really tight budget.  I found a dress like yours but had more pearls that was from the previous season for $99!!!  Then I let hte BM's pick their own and we found them at Dillards and ended up getting them for $25 each.  I was going to make my own veil but eventually decided it looked horrible and splurged and bought one that cost more than my dress...[;)]  That wasn't hard to do though.

Anyway, congratulations and be sure to go try it on whenever you can.  I pranced around my parents house in mine at least once a week!  Haven't put it on since the wedding day though.

What a georgous gown Georganne!  When I got married we paid for our wedding too.  My dad was recovering from cancer and I would not ask my parents to put out that money. I wish I had gone to Davids.  My very good friend was just married on my anniversary and they got all their dresses at Davids.  They were all beautiful and everything went well at Davids with their fittings and such.  Good Luck and keep it coming with the details.  Planning this far ahead I bet your going to have a fairytale wedding with everything just right.

IMO, the consultant makes or breaks the David's experience.  Mine was all kinds of awesome. [:D] I had a friend with one who was terrible.

Yeah, the woman who worked with me was wonderful.  She gave me coupons and everything to save on BM dresses and a free tux rental...YAY!  That will save us some money.  We are paying for the wedding ourselves since his parents have passed away and my mom just can't afford much.  So we are trying to save money...having the wedding at a family members place at Honeoye Lake in NY (we hope), not too many flowers, and only about 50 people (close family and friends).  Still very excited and I will probably be trying the dress on quite a few more times [:)]

    Love the dress!

    It's lovely!

I worked in the bridal industry some years ago and I think the consultant makes or breaks the experience no matter where you go.  Not an easy business to work in, your customer thinks their very happiness depends on you...if you get a consultant that enjoys the work, she'll probably be doing her best for you and follow through on everything!
