Grabbing Hands - Saying "Let's Play"!
Posted to:
Training & Behavior
This isn't my problem, but it's my husband's. B'asia (who has a giant crush on her dad) grabs his hands, like many GSDs do to say, "Hello, I love you - Won't you tell me your name? Hello, I love you - Let me jump in your game. " DH doesn't like this and would like...

Mindless Chatter - Sat
Posted to:

Ohhhh this weekend off work is going by way too fast! Yesterday flew by. Not good! I still have lots of things on my list of things to do. First up - laundry. Poor Dakota is not feeling well at all. She won't eat anything - except for a few bites of turkey. What dog can refuse thanksgiving turkey...

Are miniature pinschers hard to house train?
Posted to:
Choosing A Dog
I hope to not offend anyone with this question. If I do, let me apologize in advance. A friend recently bought a min pin puppy and seems to having very little trouble house training it. Would you guys say one breed is more prone to difficulty in this area than others? In comparison to some other breeds...

How soon after Pred can I feed raw?
Posted to:
Nutrition & Exercise
I know Prednisone suppresses the immune system, so I've been cooking Emma's food. Her last dose of Prednisone will be tomorrow (started with a BIG BIG dose, and weaned down). How soon can I feed her normal food? This cooking stuff is a pain!

I got playing with Photobucket and came up with this.. I think it turned out not bad.. It's a bit long thou.. About 6 minutes so the song repeats itself as I don't know how to add different songs.. The dogs featured here are Maze, Wolf and Brutus! Enjoy!! [URL=http://s233.photobucket.com/albums...

Our first disc dog training session!
Posted to:
Nutrition & Exercise
Whew, it was almost information overload. We packed in so much in a 3 hour training session - but it was awesome and we had a lot of fun! First we worked on getting Neiko to bring the frisbee back along with building drive through tug games and 2 targets (tugs, frisbees, etc). I'm going to write...

A good breed for my lifestyle...
Posted to:
Choosing A Dog
Hello, I just joined this forum a couple minutes ago because for the past couple years I have been considering a dog. The only problem is I'm not sure if I'm the type of person who could own a dog. I am not a very active person. As you can tell by my user name I am a musician and spend most of...

Any pilots here?
Posted to:
News & Entertainment
Okay, so here's the deal. I want to be a pilot. I've wanted to fly planes for a lot of years. I can do a "discovery flight" for like $49, so that seems like the obvious first move, but here's my problem. I already know I'm going to love it. I don't need a first flight to...

Lamb bones...hmmm....
Posted to:
Nutrition & Exercise
I stopped at Whole Foods today to get some marrow bones and chicken wings, which I give to the dogs as treats. I struck out on the beef marrow bones (it's so irritating--they get them in on Tuesdays and by Saturday which is when I can actually make it there, they're all gone most of the time...

Misha pulled out all the tall genes...

My parents bought a crate for Misha a while ago, but he has since outgrown it. Apparently he's now "taller than his crate" which was supposedly 30". He's only 11 months old, when did he get so tall? I haven't seen him in a few months, but supposedly his back his crotch level...

Anyone feed Acana?
Posted to:
Nutrition & Exercise
What have your results been? Sierra's been on it for about 1.5 months now. She loves it, but her poop is HUGE! She poops 2-3x per day. She is shedding a bit, but i'm waiting another month to see if that goes away when winter is in full force. No gas, no weight changes... nothing else, really...
