Miscarriage.
Posted to:
News & Entertainment
Okay, so a lot of you know now that I've recently had a miscarriage. I'm not trying to be gross, but I'd just like some opinions and/or some advice. The weekend after I found out, I bled for 7 days. Then I stopped for 3 days. Then I wasn't bleeding or having cramps. Even when I...

Parvo in mutts
Posted to:
Health & Grooming
I was told by a trusted breeder that it is much less likely for mutts to get parvo because of the multiple breeds. It makes it easier to prevent illness. Has anyone else heard this? I thought all dogs were septable.

Puppy stopped wanting to go/play at doggie daycare -- sudden!
Posted to:
Training & Behavior
We have a 1.5 yr. old lab mix (mutt) with tons of energy. While we exercise him as much as possible, we decided to start taking him to doggy daycare 2/week where he can run & play with about 20 other dogs while we work. We work 5 days/week and feel sorry leaving him at home even though he now "rules...

Michael Vick's Pit Bulls Up for Adoption
Posted to:
News & Entertainment
His back resting comfortably against her chest, Hector nestles his massive canine head into Leslie Nuccio's shoulder, high-fiving pit bull paws against human hands. The big dog - 52 pounds - is social, people-focused, happy now, it seems, wearing a rhinestone collar in his new home in sunny California...

I have soooo much to do today but I have a house guest. So, nothing will get done. Oh well. Yesterday took so much out of me. I had that 8 hr class. Can you imagine spending a Sat sitting in a class room for 8 flipping hours working problems and listening to lecture? God. It was all I could do to stay...

Maslow's theory applied to dogs
Posted to:
Training & Behavior
Does Maslow's human hierirarchy of needs apply in some form or another for dogs. Maslow's model does give an understanding of motivation, training, and self devleopment but I seem not to see the 'need' element in training methods applied to dogs. http://www.businessballs.com/maslow...

Dog is my copilot!

Has anyone read this book? I got it for christmas and just got to really start reading it yesterday (because my ABSITE test was over lol). It is a compilation of essays from the Bark magazine. I LOVE it, I just read one about the relationship with dogs and how people trivialize it or think we are crazy...

For Those of You with Blogs (not just on i-dog)
Posted to:

I found a widget from Petfinder! It puts the featured pet of the day on your blog in a postage-stamp sized picture, with a bit of info and a link to the animal. I'm really stoked! If lots of people put this on their blogs then more dogs and other animals will find homes. You can get it at: http:...

Gardeners and Cooks Unite!

Ok, for the record I love to do both. I was brought up in the traditional meat and potatoes for dinner era, no experimenting went on in our kitchen when I was growing up, and to date my father thinks eating out Chinese is getting a couple of egg rolls. He and my mother would not know a soba noodle if...

This one seems to be coming to life again...now accusations of how heartless some here are have been ladi out by both DumDog and Chuffy so there is bound to be some back and forth. I already noted in the thread that I was hoping they'd looked at the Mod/Admin requests....which probably neither even...
