Hello from Utah, border collie owner

Im excited about this forum, it looks like a great place for fun chat with other dog people. I'm here just to meet new people and discuss the dog world. I have a border collie named pat, very beutiful full breed, he's grey, so he's a little more unique then your average border collie. He's been a loyal pet for 13 years now and he's getting to old. I'm very sad about this because i've had this dog for a long time now. I'm moving to SLC so he's not going to be able to be out and about as much as we used to, so i'm extra sad about that, but I'm still going to make all the time i can for my dog. He's had alot of tuff times and near deaths because he's worked on ranches alot, and has had bad misshapps, but he's getting to the point he cant move much. Any ways he's going to be more crowded in a metropolis and I really feel bad but thats how life goes somtimes. We will be getting out alot, and there are some great locations up there for him to roam around in. Anyways Hello everyone and thanks in andvance for saying hi.

Welcome to the Forum!  It sounds like your BC has had a very active life, and I'm looking forward to hearing stories about him on the boards.

Welcome - I have had several dogs that made it into their late teens, and I know both the joy of having shared life with a great dog for so long, and the sadness that comes when you know they are near the end of their lives.  Grab the joy of each day!  And, good luck with your move.  I'm sure your old boy will adjust - he will still have you!  I know my Aussie would live in a tin can and still be happy if she was glued to me LOL.

Welcome!  I saw BC in your title and just knew I had to stop and say "Hi"!  My BC's 8mos. old (yesterday, I believe...Embarrassed have to double check the calendar), so she's a youngin'.  No farm, experience, with the exception she was born on a farm, her parents are "farmers" so she's definitely got it in her.  Sorry to hear about poor little Pat.  He obviously was a very hard worker!  I too look forward to hearing stories from you and hopefully some pics of Pat.  I saw a gray BC on a BC forum, and was just in awe!  I never realized BC's even came in that color, heck, before I got Misty, I didn't know they came in anything other than b/w!  Duhh!  But I've learned a lot, and look forward to chatting.  Hopefully, you can spread some of your years of Pat's experience w/ me.  That would be fun!
