I took my dog to the vet today and here is what I have seen and heard... A small white dog, a mix of something, only one year old, was hit by a car. His leg was hurt (though it wasn't broken), the big problem was with his eye, it couldn't be saved. The vet explained the situation to his owner...

DH, Rory and I are going for a few days up to Groveland/Yosemite and then over to the Carmel/Monterey area. Do dogs in this area get treated for heartworm? Out vet wasnt sure...

San Antonio's recent efforts in pet overpopulation
Posted to: Rescue & Help
A few good things are happening in San Antonio in trying to reduce pet overpopulation. One can adopt a dog or cat from the main two no kill shelters and the pound for half price if it is not a puppy or a kitten, on the first Saturday of each month. A medical group is paying the other half of the adoption...

After (finally) reading Turid Ragaas' book: On Talking Terms with Dogs: Calming Signals , my eyes have been opened wide. Just on this board alone, there a many, many pictures of dogs sending out calming signals. The soft squinty eyes, the nose licking...just to name a couple. This book is a...

AAFCO - the reality

Misha will officially be on TOTW exclusively and will be considered an "allergy dog" which will mean no grains, no biscuit treats, and no chicken for a few months until we can figure out if he's actually allergic to chicken. So... this will be an interesting experience, but at least he's...
