Is this another example of how behavioral science may be failing our dogs? http://ow.ly/2yEaJ LCK

Shocked and ashamed
I have a two-year-old blue Great Dane. He was neutered at about 7 months old. He's a very sweet dog, great with our five-year-old son, and good with our other dog, a 4-year-old Shepherd mix (also male). He does play rough with our other dog and he's still very much a puppy--gets hyper and very...

Kurgo Seat Belt Harness
http://www.kurgostore.com/product_images/y/211/TFSH_1__73313_thumb.jpg I use this harness on Quanah - I only have room for the two medium crates the girls ride in, so he needs another form of restraint while riding in my truck. I like it because it's sturdy, but it isn't bulky like a lot of the...

Finally caught female black lab rubbing along the one wall in hallway...
We have two labs one a buff color male who is maybe 7+ yrs old and black female about 5 years old. For the longest time I couldn't figure out which one was rubbing along this hallway wall which eventually causes this dirty streak. I could never catch them doing it! Then the other day as I was standing...

Training treat suggestions
I need training treat suggestions! Echo's tummy did not deal well with cheese pieces last night at class. Her tummy also does not like chicken cooked and cut up. It is also crumbly. Bil-jac treats give her the runs also. I don't know if she would do ok with kibbles as treats? Or what about...

Hey, now we're talkin'....
Guess who is in Cesar's new book??? Bob Bailey and Ian Dunbar: http://www.dogstardaily.com/blogs/my-contribution-cesar-milans-new-book I think Cesar may have been listening to us after all, or perhaps his publishers were. In any case, I think Dr. Dunbar took the high road and realized that he might...

Lily is being a brat
Her bratty behavior comes from wanting all of my attention and it is getting very annoying. She is obsessed when it comes to me giving abbie or neiko attention. If she sees me patting one of them she comes over and pushes in. When it comes to abbie, she is really bad. If I throw a ball for abbie, lily...

dog barking in the house
I adopted a Shiba Inu mix in July 2008, named Alfie, about 6 years old. He's a great dog but has been barking in the house much more frequently at sounds outside. Most of the time it's from a diesel truck, motorcycle, car without a muffler, etc. Vehicles that are generally loud. However, any...

constant paw licking?
my shih tzu's are CONSTANTLY licking and nibbling at their paws.. to the point where they lick until their feet are soaking wet. I don't think their paws are hurting them ... because if i touch or squeeze them, it doesnt seem to bother them.. any ideas what could be causing it?

Combination Leather Collar
Apollo's 3/4" Combination Rolled Leather Collar came in today and I * LOVE * it! It's much thicker than it looks; the leather is thick and solid, the brass is very bold; it's heavy duty. And it's not a rolled collar, but the edges are rounded off (I think that's what she meant...

Marking on walks, do you allow it?
just curious if you allow some marking or do you not let it happen at all Also what are your feelings about kicking back after a poop And yes I just read something about this and didn't really agree with what I read - but I won't say what I read. So what is OK what is not in your book?

Jealousy/Barking
So, we're having some issues with Penny. Penny has been an only dog for all her life, until about 2 years ago when we got Daisy. She's always had some jealous tendencies, but I thought that maybe they'd fade away once she got used to having another dog in the house. However, that doesn't...

I am very proud
There's so many posts about problems and issues I just wanted to be positive for once and say I am very proud of all my dogs. There has been a serial arsonist at work in my neighborhood. I can walk just three blocks and pass four burnt homes. The fires have always been set at night, but I'm still...

poor door greetings
My dog is a 11 month Lab/spaniel we got from an undisciplining home when he was 7 months when we got him. He used to have a problem with play biting with our kids, so we started using a "time out" space in the basement when he started acting up. When he settled down we brought him back up...

Dog aggression
Aesop's behavior towards the pup is worsening. It started out as a "play too rough/pinchy biting" behavior..almost predatorylike (although he's never shown a bit of predatory behavior before..indoors OR out) We started crating him (which he likes) when the pup was out, rewarding when...

Tell me it gets better...
I'm sure I look/sound paranoid at this point but I really do just need some reassurance that what Simba does will get better. I'm talking about his jumping and biting, I will say it's not AS much as it used to be, but today he started again. I don't get why he continues to do it when...

Ruff Wear Webmaster Harness
Best $50 spent, ever. Awesome for longer walks, doesn't slip around, and GREAT for attaching long lines to dogs who can't listen to their mothers. The sizing is a bit wonky, so when they say measure carefully, they mean it! Pirate is wearing an XS, and Wendy has on a S. [IMG]http://i129...
