My dog the cry baby!
Hello! I am new to all this forum stuff so excuse me if i seem like a twit, lol... Um i have a doberman pincher, he will be 2 in september and still has his jewels. He does try to be the boss quite alot of the time so keeping the heirachy can be tiresome. The main problem we have with him is whining...

Chasing car in dog park okay?
Whenever we bring our gsd pup to a dog park, he spends half the time chasing cars along the fence. When we walk on a leash, I can usually get him under control by putting him in a sit stay and holding him on a very short leash. My question is, should I correct him for chasing cars when he's in...

Steal and Destroy missions!
I got a "multi-issued" rescue dog when he was 6 months old. He's almost 2 and the only issue we have left is the one that's been impossible to break. He steals things and then destroys them, if we don't get it away from him fast enough (Should say that he's a lab mix.) I'm...

My male puppy PURPOSEFULLY pees on me!
We adopted a puppy approximately 1 month ago and have yet to get him even remotely close to understanding the concept of housebreaking. He is now crate trained but we can't seem to get him to use the yard as his bathroom. He goes outside for an hour with us and comes directly in and squats! The past...

dog on dog aggression
I have a large dog family... They have been great together. One of my youngest dogs has always gotten along well with the other dogs, until recently. Within the last 3 months she has started to become very grouchy with the other dogs. If I take here for a walk or to play she growls at the other dogs...

pom pups
I have two pom pups, 3 1/2 months old. The smallest one is always "nursing" on my arm. What does this mean? She eats and drink like a normal puppy and is healthy.

A "typical" poop sequence ?
My pom is 10 month old neutered male and I acquired him at 3 months -- a darling, joyous sweetheart. But, significant poop problem remains (undoubtedly related to my mistakes!). How to deal with this: He has 3 enclosed areas: crate (which he has never soiled, sleeps all night); fenced area outdoors...

Shih Tzu gone zippy!
My newly adopted Shih tzu was quiet when I first got him. Now he goes through a couple times a day like a wild dog....racing through the house and making circles....it is funny to watch. He loves to tear rear through the house and play fetch....A far cry from the mellow dog I got...he still is very sweet...

Big setback with the Cockapoo
Hi all-- haven't posted in a while as things have been going pretty smoothly with my pup Lucy-- until today. Twice she peed inside, near the front door (we never use it!). As some of you may know we've had a really bad time with excited and submissive piddling and we've delt with that as...

Barking in Crate
Hi all, We continue to struggle through our adoption of a six year old male toy poodle. His previous owners worked full time and he was crated all day in their home "without any difficulties." Okay. He has been in our home about 8 weeks. When I go out, I have him go into his crate....

help! unsocialized dog!
i rescued a lhaso apso 3 months ago from a bad situation. as a result, he's had a lot of hang ups, although many of them he has worked thru amazingly quickly! he's very sweet in nature, but he's about 3-5yrs old now, and in those first years of his life he was never around other dogs or people...

Scared Jack Russell
Hi, I have a 7 month old Jack Russell who is so adorable. He has always been so social. Loves people. Tonight he is acting scared of his own shadow. I am wondering what would cause this dramatic change in him. He is running from our other Jack who is 1(female), He wont lay with me or come to me. If...

House breaking - Dog gives no sign
I have a 5 month old Keeshund and she never gives me a sign she has to go potty. She has to be with us so mich that I think she just won't tell us she has to go. Then she makes a mistake. I spend a lot of time with her outside so normally it's not a problem. But everytime I let her go on the...

Rescue dog still peeing in the house
I got a chihuahua mix from a rescue center on Valentine's day this year for my husband. She is the sweetest little thing. She was rescued from a dog hoarder and they really have no idea what this one has been through. She was very scared, shaking all the time, when we first brought her home, but...

Dog reactive on walks
I have been working with my new rescue dog Zoey who is very reactive on walks (squirrels, rabbits and other dogs, especially). She is so reactive that I have had to stop taking her on walks and started training her in a quiet room in my house to do a focused sit. After a few days we progressed to the...

Doggie door?
Hi everyone, It's been a while since I last posted, but that's because we had been doing so well with Jänku. She's 8.5 months old now, and we're having a major set-back. And we're concerned because we're moving to our new house in a week (much bigger than our apartmen), and...
