Grrrr...So Discouraged...Feeling like a failure :(
So I've had Tyson for three weeks as of today and he'll be 10 weeks old tomorrow. I've already introduced him to the clicker and he has a decent recall and is 98% reliable with sit on demand, sans major distractions, and has learned a default sit to be petted, so up until now I've felt...

Where can I find...
Information on the vitamins dogs need and what food contains it??? I've been looking all over the net and can't anything that tells me exactly what I need. Right now Maze and Sandy are getting home cooked with a small portion of kibble to make up the supplements until I can figure it all out...

Maze Maze Maze......
As much as I love her, she is a royal PITA!!!! She LOVES organ meat. Which is great however, Maze won't eat her turkey neck. I've cut into more bite sizes pieces (not to small.. She still has to chew), I seared the outside to bring out the flavor and smell, I even showed her how Sandy ate hers...

What's in your dog bag?
Jackson's entering his first rally trial at the end of June. I've seen owners with all sizes of bag carrying their stuff to and from classes, workshops, trials, etc. I really don't want to overpack but I would like to be prepared. So, what's in your dog bag?? What should I be bringing...

[Richard] Van Pattens?
Does anyone know how [Richard] Van Pattens rates as far as how/where ingredients are processed? Were they part of the recalls? My dogs have been on California Natural Lamb and Rice since August 2008 and have been fabulous but now with Natura selling out I'm researching other options. The Natural...

Fromm dog food
My store is having talk of adding it. I popped a look at it before I clocked in and it looked good. What do you think? Sound like a good addition to my line up? My dogs dont have any allergies and are on quarter raw and rest quality kibbles at the moment. I need a food to replace Innova and Evos...

Best bones for small dogs
I just got my mini dachsie (10 lbs.) some Honest Kitchen food. I'd like to supplement it sometimes with raw meaty bones. Which would you suggest? Also, for those familiar with the food, I am feeding 1/4 cup 2x a day. How should I alter that based on the bones?

Agility for a newbie
Hey guys, so I plan on taking Simba to an agility class when he's around 1 or so, and I'd love to hear some advice from those who have done it before. I have some questions: -What's the most common mistakes people make in agility? -Do you think 130 dollars is a lot for a 6 week beginners...

Weaves - age?
I'm borrowing the 2x2 DVD and would like to start with Nikon as soon as I find some suitable bases. At one point Susan mentioned dogs that are channel trained b/c they are too young to weave tight. How old should a dog be before weaving? Nikon is 18 months old GSD, elbows and hips relim'd normal...

Weave Poles
Just wanted to see what method people are using to teach weaves. My trainer is doing channels, and from what I can figure, Luke seems to be afraid of the weaves. They have 2x2s, and after he eloped from them several times they sent him to the 2x2s. I've used weave-a-matics and guides before. I'm...

halo dog food
Ok even I am impressed with this food and I cook for my pets. I don't think you could get any closer to home cooking than this. If you choose to you can find recipes on their site under resources that are taken from their recipes and make it yourself. I have never seen a pet food company go this...

I'm switching Maze's food....
For now she'll be going on either Orjien or Wellness. Not sure which yet. And once I've figured out the basic's, I'll be home cooking for both the dogs.

Vent. I hate you, sellout Natura!!!!!!
http://www.businessweek.com/ap/financialnews/D9FGP1IG0.htm Every time I find a great food, some big greedy company messes it up. Not waiting around to see the formulas change, you sellout butt heads - bought my last bag already. I'm now madder than bloody blue blazes and prepared to tell hundreds...

What do you think?
So almost everyone knows Procter and Gamble is in the process of buying out Natura. My question is, Do you think just maybe they will use the same ingredients? Most people buy innova because they read labels, know and care what they are feeding their dogs so if said product no longer has quality ingredients...

Anal glands impacted twice now in a 6 month old puppy
I keep reading that a higher fiber diet would possible help this. Cash is still on the breeders food of Eukanuba Large Breed Puppy. Don't flame me! I tried to transition to Wellness and his stool was too soft and he was about 4 months and he became known as fishy butt puppy. We had to have the anals...

Cheap agility tunnel!
Just wanted to share, I picked up a 'discovery kids' play tent today @ CVS and it has a tunnel!! ( thats the real reason I bought it), it was $20. I found similar online for that price but I still wouldve had to pay shipping. So just wanted to pass it along in case anyone is looking for a 'starter'...
