Gassy Dog-Food help?
Hey guys, so Simba is rather gassy. Maybe not as much as some other dogs but he sure as heck 'cuts the cheese' a lot more than my last dog. I know some dogs are just gassy and I figure half of it may be his diet. I try to keep him away from things like cheese, carrots...I know bones can cause...

I just ordered...
A 16.5 bag of eagle pack from dog.com! I have never ordered dog food online before, but have really been wanting too. I don't have a good selection of dog food around here, the best thing that is close by is petsmart - so blue buff. I have been wanting to try eagle pack, canidae, wellness and wellness...

Switching foods... suggestions?
Trooper's been having some allergy issues... the fold in his lower lip gets raw, off and on, which goes away with treatment with a vet-prescribed soap and cream. However, it's always come back, so we're looking into a diet change. He currently eats California Natural Lamb and Rice, but...

Replacement for California Natural?
Now that Natura is being sold, I need a food for Jake to replace California Natural. Because he has had UTI's, we'll probably supplement with water, wet food and/or Honest Kitchen. For now though, kibble has to remain part of the diet. He did not like the new Canidae formula but did well on the...

Bitework
Borrowed from another thread: If you think about it, to the dog, the bite on a sleeve is the same as the bite on a rope tug. Agree? Disagree?...

dog food flavoring question
My gal will sometimes go on a 'hunger strike' because she is so bored of her kibble. I only feed her dry kibble, as recommended by her breeder -- plus it keeps her teeth white as snow! (raw and some 'very high quality' brands makes her very runny and vomity -- I feed her mid range Nutri...

Merrick Brand Food
Has anyone tried this brand of food? Looking for options for grain free and chicken free. There are not alot of options available for me in my area. Petco is the closest store (29 miles)with the widest variety, but they are limited. I have tried Wellness, EP, TOW, Earth Born, Natural Balance. Mostly...

Eggshells for calcium in homecooked...raw or cooked?
I have been using only raw shells that have been cleaned, dried and ground. We made a HUGE batch of potato salad with hard boiled eggs. Are those shells ok? Does the boiling change the calcium or effectiveness somehow ?

Does He Dislike Rally??
When I got Jack I did so with the hope of casually competing in some dog events--agility, rally, obedience, etc. Since Jack has elbow dysplasia agility is obviously out, so we started doing some rally classes with the hopes of competing. I was under the impression that rally, especially at lower...

Weight Pulling
I'm looking to add a weight pulling class into our K9 club and am having some issues finding a site with step by step instructions on what I need equipment wise and how to teach it properly. I'll be using Sandy as my tester dog to see if I'm teaching it right. There are a lot of bully breeds...

Click & Train Agility - Available for FREE
I just stumbled across this and thought I'd share with the group. Agility Nerd is offering the book Click & Play Agility for free on his website! So far the first 6 chapters have been released, with a new one available about every 2 weeks. Though this book seems primarily geared toward the...

Sammy's Snacks
My feed store (which carries many super premium pet foods) just started carrying Sammy's Snacks dry food. I gave the senior formula a try for the oldsters and really liked it. Anyone else seen or used this yet?

Are raw bones safe???
I see the raw bones on sale at the super market and would love to give them to my dogs from time to time. My concern though is whether or not this is safe. I'm not concerned about the dogs safety, but rather my family's. When I prepare raw meat in my kitchen I make sure that I wash my hands and...

Our first Rally Trial, good news/bad news...
Bad news is it was even uglier than the match we did in the rain a couple of weeks ago. We scored a 71. I thought being the next to last in was going to work in our favor. I'd better guess again- Caleb had too long to wait between the walk thru and our turn, so his little yellow brain turned off...

Ski (er... roller) joring, anyone?
Oh my gosh this looks like a blast!!! Has anyone tried this (Having your dog pull you while you ski or roller blade behind) ? I like to roller-blade with one of my dogs and I have to say that putting him and a harness and letting him do some pulling sounds like a great way to have fun, and to tucker...

I have a 10 month old black standard poodle Pup that has been not had a normal bowl movement since i got her. My breeder is tired of hearing from me and my vet is also tired of me. Agility - how are your classes run?
We had a bit of a spat last night at our agility class (I was not directly involved). Nikon and I are in basic agility, so it's for adult dogs with no experience (there is also puppy agility for physically immature dogs, and intermediate for those doing more off lead and working on sequences and...
