Anyone use a dehydrator?
I just ordered a fairly inexpensive one to try...my dogs love the sweet potatoes I've been buying from Canyon Creek, but dang, I just realized they are made in China. I don't know if there is a problem with the sweet potatoes, but I know there is one with chicken from China. PetSmart doesn't...

Narc
Because obedience, rally, conformation, agility, tracking, obedience, herding, lure coursing, dock diving, and flyball aren't enough...I might be training and certifying Nikon as a narcotics dog! I guess if we're going to spend all this time and money on training it's time we do something...

Tell me about Rally
So, I'm thinking about doing a Rally class with either Callie or Luke (probably Luke, but I could be convinced otherwise, or might take him and her next session). It's pricey, $125 for 7 weeks, but not something I can't afford. I am paying for both dogs in fly ball right now, but that may...

Cooking Beef Heart
So, I picked up another package of beef hearts to try out again. The first time I got a package of it, it came with hearts and livers which I just pan friend in some EVOO and cut up for the dogs food that way. I was looking for a different method of cooking because this time, the hearts I got are...

Protein / Carb Combo
Ok, for the first time ever my dog may have had a problem with changing his food. Normally I rotate between the different varieties of the brand. I ran out and had to use my sisters dog food for a day, which is probably not as good as mine but not bad either. She was using blue but tried something new...

Treibbal (Ball Herding)
Anybody do Treibbal with their dog? Also known as Ball Herding. One of the trainers I go to teaches this and I am very interested in trying this with my new Beardie once he arrives. I looked up several YouTube videos on the sport and it looks like so much fun. Like hearding but replacing the sheep with...

Rally Dog/Handler Attire Questions
It's only taken us 5 years, but I've finally decided to go ahead and start learning the various sports and start competing with Misha. I'm tired of waiting on the perfect puppy (and it looks like puppy might be more than a year away ). I can see Misha is finally really ready to start more...

Dog treats
I am thinking of starting a dog treat business. I wanted to know what size you all prefer for training treats and basic treats. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. J

Homemade dog treats.
I like to make dog treats for my dog. However, I have a few questions. 1. Are there sprinkles specifically made for dogs? If not, would putting sprinkles on dog treats be bad for my dog? He has a very strong stomach. 2. Does anyone have a recipe for red dog treat icing? I usually just use yogurt...

What's everyone feeding nowadays...
Just curious. I'm trying to rotate more often and not get stuck on one brand, one formula.. Juno ate Orijen Adult for almost a year straight. Liked it a lot, but the local prices jumped, so that kinda lit a fire under my butt to try something else, lol. Tried Taste of the Wild for a bit, but always...

Food for dry skin?
For the last few months Piper's coat has been drying out. She was on Wellness small breed for a while, and is now on Holistic Select chicken. I've started adding fish oil to her food to prepare for the upcoming winter, and she always gets toppers of yogurt, meat, or veggies. Are there any foods...

Go! formula change
I don't know how many on here feed Go! Natural dog foods, but I wanted to let you know that their "allergy" formula (salmon and oatmeal) is no longer very allergy friendly. I was about to purchase another bag when I noticed the formula now includes potatoes, kinoa, flaxseed, and kamut ...

Caleb had another great night in Nosework class...
The first couple of hides he found rather quickly. The third one he worked so hard to find that there were slime strings hanging out the sides of his mouth. He's too smart, tho. Even tho he doesn't see where the instructor is placing the hide, he's started taking notice of the direction she's...

Struggling with the take on retrieve
I'm working on a second dog for fly ball, maybe, if I can get her to retrieve. Callie is a little over two, and looks like a little golden retriever, but she doesn't retrieve. Well, sometimes she almost kind of retrieves, but never all the way. I've got a lot of crappy retrieve behavior to...

Chronic Diarrhea Vet says allergies and prescribes Hill's Ultra ZD
I wanted to post this in the hopes of helping some other frustrated parent of a sick dog...We adopted a 3 year old Scottish Terrier from a Rescue Shelter. She had nothing but diarrhea from the minute we got her. In less than 2 months, we had taken her to the vet 3 times. He performed 3 fecal tests, blood...

FLYBALL!!!
Does anyone else here do Flyball? I started with Nikon. I'm training Pan too but not as seriously as Nikon. Pan is really scatterbrained right now and just wants to run and play with the puppy in the other lane, so were just working on him learning to fetch the tennis ball and "trade" for...
