it is, unfortunately, everywhere -- I found out last year when *I* had that really bad cellulitis (which they thought was MRSA or simliar but never 'tested' to find out) that people assume MRSA is only in hospitals. Wrong -- it is literally everywhere. And it's not just staph -- the "infectious disease" dr I saw told me that most MRSA is really strep, not just staph -- but it's everywhere. It's really scarey.
I spend most of my efforts now trying to make sure I don't get it again ... rather than just treating the psoriasis. I haven't gone barefoot even in my own home in years.
The idea of raw feeding terrifies me -- not even so much at what the dogs might get, but what *I* might get from having to handle that much meat. A friend of mine who does raw here in Florida got cellulitis from mixing meat with pureed raw veg to give her own dogs. She had a wee tiny scratch on her arm and 'juice' got on it and it gave her cellulitis.
It's scarey stuff.
