Cal Nat Salmon and Lentils
Seeing if anyone else has tried this food yet. It's 28% protein, 11% fat and the bag says it is 'low glycemic' which is what I'm looking for for Darby. I was reading on greatdanelady.com that it's best for dogs with yeasty skin to have no grain, no potato (and low glycemic). She loves...

Beware Chicken Jerky Treats from China -- AGAIN!
In the past 2 weeks, the FDA has received over 400 complaints of dogs getting ill and / or dying after eating chicken jerky treats made in China. I am still trying to track down more info, this is what I have found so far: [url]http://news.petpardons.com/fda-receives-over-400-new-reports-of-dog-treat...

Anyone try Innova Prime yet?
I saw Innova has a new line of foods out, Prime. It's between Evo and California Natural in terms of protein/fat. Evo is like, 42/20, prime is 32/16 and CN is 21/11. I have had the cat on Evo for his first year (plus canned) and he looks beautiful. Don't think he could get any shinier! Trying...

Training off wildlife
I would love to hear ideas about training off wildlife using whatever technique you think would work (or has worked for you). All ideas are welcome. The idea is to get the dog to not go into the chase in the face of an animal that has been flushed and then takes off.

Guidelines to finding the right trainer
In my line of work I meet many people seeking out a dog trainer or solutions to their dog's behavioral problem. Unfortunately, by the time many of them come to the shelter they have their minds set on surrendering the dog as the only option. Some have tried trainers with no solution other just simply...

Caleb had another awesome night at Nosework...
After doing vehicle searches outside, we switched to thresholds. Yeah, ok- nothing amazing there. Then we did container/box searches. Here's the amazing part- Caleb is just starting to work with odor, so we pair treats with the odor. We also, as of now, only have odor at class. At home we just use...

AKC obedience classes
Has anybody else noticed that there are fewer all-breed clubs offering obedience and rally classes at their shows? I do realize that the entries in this area have been down, but you can't get entries when there are no classes to enter! When I do find a weekend with obedience and rally, there is often...

Alternatives to w/d?
I am just a few days away from getting my new dog. Normally I have a good idea on what food is best for my dog, Gizmo gave me the run around with food, but am a little stumped when it comes to switching over from a prescription diet. Right now Logan is on w/d low Fat-Diabetic-Gastrointestinal with Chicken...

Maze's new fav food
I'm slowly adding different veggies to Maze's diet, one piece at a time to see if she has a reaction. This time around it was Rutabaga. I've never had the stuff myself, nor have I worked with. But I decided to give it a shot... Maze LOVES it. I can feed her chunks out of the mixing bowl...

A friend has a 'baby Beast' who is having some yeast issues (ears & skin and a it's lab mix pup). He's 8 months old @65lbs and been eating Blue large breed puppy food. Is it still too early to try something like TOTW? If so any recommendations? She'd like it to have less...
