    Maze's new fav food

I'm slowly adding different veggies to Maze's diet, one piece at a time to see if she has a reaction. This time around it was Rutabaga. I've never had the stuff myself, nor have I worked with. But I decided to give it a shot...

Maze LOVES it. I can feed her chunks out of the mixing bowl. I don't use flavored broth to cook the veggies so there's nothing special to them.. She is just a dog that loves her veggies.

     Wonderful!

My Sugar loves all fruits and veggies too.  It is great to have her like this.  Except that I can't sit watching TV and eat a piece of fruit, Sugar is right in my lap to "share" and help me with the "burden."  Apple, pear, orange, banana, peach, plum, haven't found one yet she doesn't love, love LOVE!

Lacey, on the other hand, considers most fruits and all veggies to be poison -- the look on her face is QUITE clear on this point!  Ha ha haaa

Maze is a dog that loves her veggies. Broccoli is up there as well. She'll eat it raw if I let her (and no gas thank god~!) Sandy likes melon but thats it.

Miss Ava loves fruits too, apples the most.  She also loves string beans and little black beans that I put in my salads.  She also loves anything sweet too, but only give her tiny bites of sweet stuff.  She is a really good eater of which I am so thankful.

Caleb's a fruit and veggie lover, too.  I haven't found any yet that he doesn't like, but his favorites are bananas, oranges and celery. What I find really funny is I have a sister who is a real healthy food nut, and her Golden won't touch most fruits and veggies.

How do you prep the veggies?  I have purchased Dr. Harvey's Veg to Bowl at times, but seems I could save money doing it myself.  Do you use a food processor and dice it all up?  Would love some more details from you!

I just cut them up and either toss them in his dish (if I'm adding it to his meal), or use it as treats.

Sinbad loves his veggies, too--broccoli, green beans, and carrots are his favorites, but he also loves lettuce, etc. etc. He eats them raw or steamed (well, not the lettuce). I do steam and freeze a couple weeks' worth at a time. (He has them for a lunch snack every day.

For "toppers" on Marley's dinner every night, I use a mixture of chicken, carrots, peas, and green beans. I swear he goes for the veggies first! lol

He also loves apples, bananas, pears, watermelon, loquats, etc....

Hm I'll have to try that with my girls.  They also love veggies.  :)

I boil them until soft. Then I toss them in a large mixing bowl and add the meat, mix, portion and freeze. LOL. Most dogs you do have to puree it as they have trouble digesting veggies, but not Maze. She actually prefers her veggies to be somewhat crunchy. Ask away!

     Great, thank you.
