New Diamond Pet Food Recall

Just heard Diamond is not delivering ANY food made in their South Carolina plant.. Wondering if TOTW, Canidea and some of the others are made there, anyone know?

 Local pet store near me just pulled all TOTW, Canidea, Chicken Soup, and Natural Balance off the shelves they are all made from Diamond. The lady said they wasn't part of the recall, but with Diamond not shipping those out of their plant she wasn't taking the risk and selling it to her customers with the bags she already had. I believe there is something Blue makes that is made from Diamond plant and she pulled that bag off too.

Wow, they pulled all those foods, is this a small store?    I just bought a bag of Canidea, and I believe there is another sitting at the store....they special order the Beef and Fish in for me but they ordered too many.       I haven't opened the bag that I have yet waiting for as long as possible to see if something develops.  I have probably just 2 days of food left in the opened..maybe less. 

But meanwhile..I wrote to Canidae to ask them point blank about their food and the fact that nothing is being shipped from the Carolina plant and this is their answer:

CANIDAE is in no way affected by the actions that Diamond has taken with their vulantary recall of their Diamond Naturals Lamb & Rice line. Our products are in full production and are in no way affected by this issue. Contrary to the rumors going around, we are sitll shipping our products from the South Carolina plant. Due to higher standards, more sensitive testing, increased accountability and transparency there have been over 1,000 pet food recalls since 2007. Rapid intervention and responsible manufacturing practices have prevented pet illness by removing affected products from the marketplace before any illness is reported. We share your concern for the safety of our pets and are grateful for these advances because they result in better, safer products.. If you have any further questions, please call customer service at (800) 398-1600

 Yeah this is a small pet store and I love them the lady that owns it has passion for animals makes sure to carry only stuff made in the USA. She pulled all the dog food as precaution even though they told her there was nothing wrong with the food she had ( They don't sell Diamond). She doesn't feel comfortable selling stuff to customers if Diamond isn't shipping stuff from this plant. Then how is she suppose to feel ok selling the stuff she already has that is made from this same plant that has recall.

I can understand that completely. Diamond has such a bad reputation that I am sure all of us that feed Taste of the Wild and Canidae are not happy that it is made in a Diamond plant to begin with...I know years ago when TOTW came out and I was feeding it to Gibson, it upset me when I realized it was made at Diamond.............and of course I don't feel any better about Canidae...........just that I liked the beef and fish formula, and know they have always been a good company in the past.

Always something with this darn dog food....... if its not one brand , its another.   

 I know what you mean i had to feed my dogs Diamond for the past 4 years, because that is what I could afford at the time. I'm glad I got the dogs switched to something better just before the recall for Diamond. I'm trying to stay away from Diamond and other companies that are made in the same plant as them. It's insane how much dog food brands are made in the same plant as them. I have both the dogs on Blue and soon will be switching them to Best Breed  to give them a try on that.

So many feeding TOTW now......wonder if any of them are worried!

I feed TOTW and just checked with my trainer which is where I purchase my food.  She said that our local distributor is not shipping any Chicken Soup or TOTW although they are saying that it is a precautionary measure and that they have not been recalled.

They are not shpping because the plant is closed down. Its only Diamond products.
