Vectra 3D: Flea and Tick
Some product info: It is only sold through vets, and according to my vet - they hope it stays that way (no doubt to control the price, but that is just my opinion) It is supposed to repel and kill fleas, ticks, mosquitoes, lice, sand flies and mites It is supposed to be quick drying, non-greasy and water...

lepto vaccination ?'s
At my cairn's annual check up the vet tech said leptospirosis is showing up in dogs in this area and asked if I wanted him vaccinated. At first I was hesitant, but decided it was OK after talking to the tech and the vet. I did ask about side effects. He has been fine. He has to get 2 more boosters...

Retching advice
Hello Everyone, I have a German Shepherd cross. He is 12 years old. I have to say I have been very lucky not to have had any medical problems with him throughout his life but in the past year he has developed arthitis despite being a very very active dog. Tomorrow I am taking him to vets and would like...

3 year Rabies vaccine?
First, Tootsie is due for her rabies, distemper and lepto. Also they want to do a fecal. I opted out of the distemper and lepto, So she'll get the rabies and a fecal. How important are the other two? Also its $57 for the rabies and $20 for the fecal. Is this high?

Jean Dodds makes it to Canada (kinda. Lol)
Through my k9 club, we're always looking for a holistic take on diet, vaccines, ect.. However not having a holistic vet here on the coast, we've had to make due by using books and the internet. From what I've seen in Canada, we're not as relaxed as the States when it comes to vaccines...

Cooling an overheated dog - advice?
This came up in the Mindless Chatter post because Bugsy had a rough time on a walk this morning. Usually I wet him down completely in the heat and also carry water. DH took him and did neither. So what I understand is to wet the groin and armpits, feet, head, and outside of their ears to keep them cooler...

Maggie collapsed
So I'm back from the vet's office and seeking good vibes as well as any potential suggestions for things to talk to the specialist on Monday about. About 2:30 this afternoon, Maggie had an odd episode in which she started rocking side to side and fell over. Her gums were *white*, so even though...

Pet Top water bottle top...
I bought one of these last summer and loved it so much I bought two more- one to keep in each vehicle. It's so much easier to carry a waterbottle with the Pet Top than a bottle of water and a seperate bowl. They come with an adaptor for bottles with a shorter neck. It took Caleb less than 5 minutes...

Shorkie with "flipper legs"
I was interested in a shorkie puppy that is 8 weeks old. The current owner said that the puppy has flipper legs from being way over weight and that her vet told her that he will be fine as soon as he loses weight and grows a little older. Has anyone ever heard of this? The owner says that he is walking...
