Warning about corn cobs
I think everyone here knows to watch that your dog doesn't get the much loved corn cobs.....and just to prove it was Gibby. We have always let our dogs eat some corn off the cob...we usually actually save them a little corn and love to watch the mess they make chewing it off the cob. And we know...

Not sure what it is...
Okay so I'm trying not to worry and haven't heard it today, then again I've been passed out most of the day haha. Anyway, so ever since Thursday Simba's voice has been different. Not exactly when he barks, but when he whines, it sounds rather husky, almost like he's a smoker is the...

Prednisone and prednisolone
Is there any difference between the two? I'm giving prednisone to my dog now for allergies (believe me I don't want to but it's the only thing that works) and I accidentally ordered prednisolone. As far as I can tell in my research they're basically the same but I just want additional...

Labrador "hound" Odor
Our new lab, Greta, has been bathed three times since my husband brought her home, because she was so disgusting and nasty. I brush her daily, as she's still shedding a lot of that loose hair. It seems like, however, that she's got a really strong, hound-ish, odor. Is there a shampoo...

5 month GSD with mild hip dysplasia
Our 5-month old GSD (Nikita) went in to be spayed today (operation went wonderfully); she's had a slight limp over the last few weeks but she manages to work it out when she walks. After her operation while she was still sleeping, the vet (upon my request) x-rayed her elbows, wrists, knees and hips...

Wired Hair Coat Care
I adopted a wired hair dachshund yorkie recently and her coat is quite different from my golden mix. I first tried using a slicker brush and realized quickly that wasn't going to work. It seems like it tangles toward the end of the hair so I use a comb and then a natural bristle brush. Is this normal...

Severe vomitting, diarrhea, and fluctuating temps....advise needed...
I'm trying to find some advise for a friend who has a sick pup. The pup is a 5 yr old spayed Yorkie who has been vomitting LOTS, has diarrhea with what may appear to be blood in it, and had a temp of 92 one day and then 104 the next. She also has no appetite. CBC is all good (except for signs of...

Shedding solution added to water?
So, here is a question for you. My Lab mix is a shedding monster (despite frequent appointments with the Furminator comb and other general good grooming practices) and we have tried a few of the supplements that claim to reduce shedding - one recommended by our vet, one by our doggie daycare, etc. None...

The yet-to-be-named psycho dog, with the shortest "honeymoon period" EVER, got spayed a week ago today, but she needs some serious EXERCISE!! before we both go crazy. She doesn't have external stitches, so I'm trying to figure out how I know when she can really exercise without splitting...

Knee Surgery
Ack....My dog had to have his knee fixed. Leg bones are not straight and therefore the ligament was not keeping the kneecap in place. I honestly can not think right now of all the stuff the vet did. I picked him up yesterday and he looks so much worse than I thought. It was not a good night for me, I...

Lion threw up? (Mech A)
Lion ate breakfast around 8am this morning. But, he kept picking his thyroid pill out of his meal. He wouldnt even eat it wrapped in lunch meat. So finally, I just put the pill in his mouth and he swallowed it. At about 10:30 we took a walk. He seemed very hyper and acted like he wanted to run, so...

So I finally kept an appointment for Rickards to get neutered. Its at 8:30am! I've made like three in the past and I always have backed out, because I haven't been able to handle the thought of something happening during surgery. But I finally feel like its time and I know I'm going to be...
