    Wired Hair Coat Care

I adopted a wired hair dachshund yorkie recently and her coat is quite different from my golden mix. I first tried using a slicker brush and realized quickly that wasn't going to work. It seems like it tangles toward the end of the hair so I use a comb and then a natural bristle brush. Is this normal for wired hair coat? I also tried using a detangler spray and that didn't help. Any good tips on caring for this type of coat?

Use a comb:) And top quality food, with fish oil and vit e added. They tend to have dry skin, so don't overwash, and when you do wash, use cool water and rinse, rinse, rinse.

I have a cairn terrier; I use a wire bristle brush with little knobs on the ends so it doesn't irritate his skin.  I use a gentle oatmeal shampoo that doesn't dry out his skin so I can wash him as much as I need to.
