Liver Disease - Anyone have any experience?
Hello there! I have been searching around quite a bit today about liver disease in dogs, and I guess I am just looking for some advice - maybe someone here has some experience and can give me input... My dog Maggie (a lab-mix) will turn 12 in June, and I have had her since she was 8 weeks old. She...

tick and flea products
I just learned that Proticall is no longer going to be made. We really love the product mostly because its kinda on the water resistant side. What will be a good substitute?

Positive lymes test
So I brought Luna to the vet today for her allergies and also got bloodwork done so she can get her teeth cleaned. The vet did a heartworm and Lymes test and the Lymes came back positive! Total surprise to me, Luna had shown no symptoms and I am usually very vigilant in checking her and picking any ticks...

Constant anxiety over dog's illness?
Hi all, prepare for a novel like post, I apologize! Early Friday morning (1am) my dog (tucker, pug cross) started acting weird, distressed and definitely not like himself. There was nothing unusual with his behavior earlier in the day or earlier that week. But he only got worse as the night went on...

HELP!! My poodle swallowed part of a porkchop bone!!
My toy poodle found a pork chop bone outside and I guess when she heard the neighbor dogs barking she downed it. When she immediately came in she sounded like her epiglottis was stuck but then she acted like she needed to throw up. Eventually she burped and is no longer laying in the kitchen but she...

Pregnant Dane???! Or False Pregnancy?
Hello, I have a two year old Great Dane, she was bred 42 days ago... Two weeks after being bred she ended up getting a vaginal infection and was put on antibiotics for two weeks. While we were at the vet they did an US and the Vet claimed she saw 2-6 pups. That was at day 23. We took her back for...

IMHA
I'm not familiar with forums and threads and such. I don't know if my question will be posted to the correct thread, which is that regarding IMHA. My dog was diagnosed with IMHA last Wednesday. His body destroys reticulocytes in the bone marrow. He was started on meds right away. Is it typical...

When will I know? / False Hope?
My Maggie is a 14 yr old chiwauwau/dachsund mix. On Wed Oct 2, 2013 we took her to the vet. She seems to lack energy but the main concern was her constantly wanting to eat dirt. Her PCV was 19% and vet gave some Iron Supplement/Pepto/Dewormer and told us to come back Saturday. I ended up coming back...

Advice needed for cancer dog with nausea
I’ve been a lurker on this board for many years, and have learned so much from your collective stories, advice and wisdom. Now I need your advice with my dog’s health problem. Pixie is an 11 year old shih tzu mix, who normally weighs around 13 lbs. Last July, after a routine blood test...

Honey going Deaf
My poor Honey is getting so hard of hearing it is unreal. We adopted her Dec. 7, 2002 and even tho we had no idea when her birthday day was or her actual age, we made that her first birthday as well as Gotcha Day. Most likely she was 1 1/2 or older. Was fully grown and heart worm positive when we adopted...

A Charlie update
I haven't done an up date on Charlie's eyes in a long time -- he had his 6 month check up today and the vet was really happy with it. so I'll try to tell enough of the background for those who don't "know" him and generally what's up. This isn't the best picture but...

I'm surprised the reproduction forum is not busier.
Spay and neuter is really so important a topic. While we kill less animals than we did years go - still the millions of unwanted dogs are in large part a byproduct of irresponsbile dog parenting. Where's BOB BARKER? A
