Groomer Job: Petsmart or PetCo?

I'm thinking of working at either Petsmart or PetCo as a groomer's helper, and then eventually a groomer to gain experience. Do you know which company is better to work for as far as grooming goes? I'm leaning more towards PetCo since they only have a one year contract, where as Petsmart the contract is 2 or 3 years. And groomer's helpers get paid commission, where as at Petsmart groomer's helpers do not get commission.

For anyone who may ever look for a job or who has hired someone - (Callie [:^)] )

The gal I've worked with for the last year (who has been so unbelievably awesome) has to move away to help family *sob*. So we're interviewing. Some people interview **incredibly** well -- they put thought and time into their resumes and you kinda want to hire them for SOMETHING just on effort and need alone -- and it makes you feel sad that they aren't quite... more

Senior Dog/Moving-How to prepare him

I used to lurk alll the time, but life got busy! Hoping some of the old experts can help me out! My boy, Yuki (husky/white shepherd) is 11. He has slowed down greatly over the past 2-3 years. He still loves walks and goes to a fantastic day care 1x a week. Most of the time, he is content to lay on the porch or the couch. We will be moving in about a month. He has moved before with us (2x), but it has been 6 years. He was unhappy about it. Lots of pacing, panting and just not settling.... more

Choose The Adequate Size For Harness For Dog Easily

Probably you will agree, that harnesses for puppies are an excellent option. Walking your dog with a harness is safer than leading them by the collar. Using a dog harness instead of a dog collar makes it easier to control and manage any dog, even those with leash manners that aren’t quite perfect. Check our harness racing.

Dog Becoming Very Nervous/Excited

Hi everyone, our girl Wheaten Terrier, Roxie, is 6 & 1/2. In the past couple months, she goes through stages where she acts very nervous and on edge. We can't make sudden moves around her or loud noises because she becomes very anxious. Sometimes if she is upstairs with us , all it takes is someone calmly walking down the stairs to the first floor of our home for her to dart off the bed like crazy and follow you down the stairs so quickly that she almost trips you. She also will sit outside... more

Thanks for sharing this info with me! My cat was recently diagnosed with an over-weight condition, but it was hard to believe that she is overweight because we feed her according to a plan and take her walking every day. I will look into this right away.
Wed, May 4 2022 4:18 AM
A friend of mine had a cat who suddenly gained weight simply because a kitten came along, and the cat started eating the kitten food. And the clue is that kitten food has a lot of nutrients that an adult cat doesn't need.
