Yeah if I had my own office I'd do it a lot more, but I share my office with someone else. I have brought Marlowe in a couple times. Conrad can be a problem because every time someone shuts their office door or opens a door, he gives one very big, very loud "WOOF!!!". I'm sure if I brought him in every day for a week he'd cease to care (our duplex neighbors at home go in and out slamming doors all day and he doesn't even cock an ear at this point), but he's got a loud bark and this is a place of work, so.... It's kind of a bummer because of the two Conrad is definately the better office dog. He's a lot more comfortable about being strange places than Marlowe is. Marlowe tends to want to wander around and explore, but Conrad is content to just sleep.
There are also a couple other people here who bring dogs in pretty regularily, but in other parts of the building so I don't see them much. Technically, officially, it's against the rules. But professors with tenure tend to kind of not care. One day over the summer that little aussie was in and I had Marlowe in too so we shut the door to my office and had a play date! And then we discovered that the owner's wife? Our vet. Yep, small world!
