How do I teach my dog to jump into the water?

I have a two year old Newfie, so obviously he already loves the water. However, he won't jump in. If I take him to a creek and he can't just walk into the water, we have to wander around until we find a place where he can. This is especially frustrating because there is a section that is deep...

Update on Gibsons crystals

So 2 1/2 weeks later took a urine sample in to get tested again.....the vet saw no crystals..just still a high ph. He said minimum Pepcid and they want to watch his electrolytes and to keep him on a high quality kibble only FOR NOW...I guess he added FOR NOW because he figures I'm not going to keep...

I really would love for my dogs to meet and hang out with some other beagles! does anyone know of anything that organizes things like that in southern california. I have a cousin that takes his beagle to "playdates" very often, and thought it sounded fun!

Kirby wants to let everyone know he has proof now he is the toughest dog on the block. I was taking him out to pee earlier. We live on an acre but only the backyard is fenced and the fence doesn't go all the way up to the back door. Often I will just take him out and let him go along the back fence...

the tax returns come in and DH buys himself a new scanner. What do I get? Gypsy's teeth cleaned and two growths removed. FWIW, the rest of the money is going in savings.
