A Maltese Question
Posted to:
Choosing A Dog
I am watching the Dog Whisper episodo about "Princess Cujo" a female Maltese. I have a male Maltese. I noticed that both dogs tails curl over their backs to the right. Do they all go to the right?

Posted to:

I have a six year old coclapoo with definite Lyme Disease . I have tried doxycycline and it takes away her appetite even mixed in an oil base which tastes like beef. I gave it to her with Pepcid at the vet's rec but she still had the problem. I have also tried Amoxicillin but that gave her diarrhea...

Need food-related articles!
Posted to:

Hey guys! I just wanted to ask if anybody here had any internet articles relating to canine nutrition and bone growth/hip dysplasia in large breed dogs. I am doing a presentation for a intro-level grad class (ANS 553--Nutrition and growth of domestic animals) that involves taking articles from people...

So I#%92m sort of looking for a job, I posted on Craigslist that I#%92m looking for a part time job working with animals. I described my experience and my training as a vet tech. Fine, if I don#%92t get an offer it#%92s not the end of the world but I figured it#%92s worth a try. I get an e-mail just...

why leadership has nothing to do with dog training
Posted to:
Training & Behavior
I live with a pack of dogs. There is a clear leader, an alpha bitch. I think the term "leader" is dead wrong. She doesn't lead, she doesn't care what the other dogs do-- they choose to follow her. Her only expectations of the other dogs is that they defer to her-- she gets first dibs...

New camera, you're all in trouble!

Yeah, so I got a digital SLR, which means... TONS OF PICTURES that you all get to put up with! I don't have the most photogenic animals, and with crappy cameras, it just doesn't work out, but with a FANTASTIC (and SUPER expensive, I might add..lol) camera...yeah... These two are almost...

News & Entertainment
For the last hour or so they've been showing scenes of an apartment building in NY - apparently a small plane crashed into it and pretty much took out the 40th. and 41st. floors. It really does appear to be an accident, but I'll bet it scared the begeesus out of an awful lot of people. Let's...

Buck finally got it!
Posted to:

He has mastered sit, stay, and come. I am now working on down, as in lay down, but I don't want to add lay to my command because it's too close to stay. So today with the help of a bagel, little peices, he got it! I got him in a sit stay and asked him to down. At first he didn't understand...

What makes dogs in Manhattan so well behaved?
Posted to:
News & Entertainment
I had my first visit to New York City this past week and I loved it! [sm=dance.gif] One thing I noticed was that New Yorkers LOVE their dogs! I must have saw more than 150 dogs being walked by their owners or dog walkers in the time I was there. One thing that all the dogs I saw had in common...
