Another Plane in another building in NY

For the last hour or so they've been showing scenes of an apartment building in NY - apparently a small plane crashed into it and pretty much took out the 40th. and 41st. floors. It really does appear to be an accident, but I'll bet it scared the begeesus out of an awful lot of people. Let's hope nobody was home in any of the apartments that were destroyed.

Just saw that....and they said fighter jets have been scrambled over a number of unnamed cities, just in case......crap.

Minutes before the crash, witnesses said the craft was flying erratically. Initial reports indicate that Lidle owns the Cirrus SR20, which took off from New Jersey's Teterboro Airport at about 2:30 p.m., and that he was the only person aboard the plane. His passport was found on the street.

"I saw a helicopter in flames bounce off the building. It was in flames. It felt like a rocket ... All of a sudden, it fell," said Doris Light.

A Cirrus SR20 is far from being a helicopter...

I wonder what altitude he was at? That plane should have been equipped with a parachute. In case of emergency in those you pull a handle and a parachute lowers the entire plane to the ground

I have been out of the house and just know found out about this. No way are you going to get me to live or work in one of those tall buildings. I have not read the details yet, but heard there was a Yankee pitcher on board. Gotta find out the details.

Wow. That is a shame. But I'm really, really glad that it turned out to be just a horrible accident. I imagine there were a whole lot of terrified people. Has there been any news on the people inside the building?
