Recreational Agility - who can do it, when to start
Posted to:
Nutrition & Exercise
Can just about any dog breed (other than the giants like Danes) do agility? What age is safe (for the joints) to start jumping? If I were to sign Scout up at a fun-only agility training class - does she need perfect obedience first, or would 'fairly good' obedience level do as a starting...

This is a cross post! I need everyone's help and prayers today. Yesterday on the way to a show in Greensboro, NC my handler stopped at a rest stop and took a Golden puppy out for a walk in the dog area behind the building. When he came back a window had been broken and the other 7 dogs he...

First off, I would like to say, I do NOT need to be talked out of this, and I do NOT need flack about this. This is not a matter of containing my dog, this is not a matter of trying to perfect heeling work with my dog, or perfecting a retrieve. This has become a life and death situation. Strauss is...

Well, it's 2:15 a.m. I'm going to write this a try and get a few hours sleep. One of 4 possible things happened toninght, but I'm discounting the 4th. It is possible that he ate a mushroom on our walk since there are some out (most with orange heads), but I do not think that happened. So...

So, Conrad. He's my dog with issues (when talking about how I want Marlowe to be a therapy dog, I always have to mention that in contrast, Conrad needs therapy). Generally he's very good, non-aggressive, plays well at the dog park (if a bit rough, but he'll alwyas alter his play style if...

Our house was built in 1978 and is still stuck in the '70's. We bought the house in March '06 and we recently took down the wallpaper and painted the foyer and the kids' bathroom. Here are some before and after pictures.
