dogs and gardens
Posted to:

Is it possible to have a puppy and a garden and if so, can someone please give me some ideas on types of plants to use or direct me to some websites or books. Our garden was a disaster before we got our pup but now I would like to plan it with the dog inmind. Any ideas would be terrific as I'm having...

Has anyone tried Pinnacle?
Posted to:
Nutrition & Exercise
I'm thinking I'm gonna start Cherokee on an true homemade two-ingredient elimination diet pretty soon here. I'd really like to be sure once and for all whether she's allergic to any foods, and if so, what? But, before I do that, I would like to try a kibble with none of the ingredients...

I want to teach my dog to "shake" but I don't want to use the word "shake" or "paw" as the command. Does anyone have any other ideas of what word to use?

We find it sometimes when we not even looking. I found some on my way home for lunch. but before I share them, allow me to say this. It's difficult to express ones self on a computer screen, while some come just to pick fights, I think others come to share info, and we can misunderstand what's...

Posted to:

Wo Hoo!! I had the pleasure of my first I-Dog member meeting. I met cummasmom today at the Pet-Expo in Timonium, MD. Along with the Expo there was an AKC agility trial going on. I wasn't entered but many of my agility friends were there so I went to check it out. It also gave me a great excuse to...

Scabs, scabs and more scabs
Posted to:
Health & Grooming
Levi has had so many scabs all over him since I got him two weeks ago, and I don't know how to tell whether they're from his playing with my sister's dog,  ocket, or something else. I know they play rough and grab and hang on to whatever their teeth manage to come into contact with...

Rival Smart Pot Crockpot wobbles
Posted to:
News & Entertainment
I just got a Rival Smart Pot Countdown Crock Pot from Target today, and the inner crock seems to wobble a little from side to side. Does anyone else have one of these and have the similar problem? I don't want to take it back and go through the hassle if it's just the way it fits.

How balanced is your homemade diet?
Posted to:
Nutrition & Exercise
This is a fun tool we learned about in my nutrition class this week. Its supposed to encourage people to get a food formulated with the company, but I think its a neat tool just to use in general. Please don't use it to balance your own diets. Anyone who uses this to evaluate your own home-made...

Cocker owners- neutering question
Posted to:
Choosing A Dog
Do any of you, Cocker owners, experienced behavioral changes in your dogs after neutering? I read that some Cockers might turn into fear biters... since some individuals are fearful - it's like they need all the testosterone they can get. Did your dog's behavior change? How?

I sort of cheated on my diet a little bit (I've had to go veggie for a while) to have a shrimp stir-fry for dinner this evening. The shrimp came whole, so by the time I had peeled them all I had a massive amount of shrimp heads and shells. I'm the kind of crazy Martha Stewart type who sees...
