Ok, now this may not sound like a serious problem, but I don't know what to do. Nigel doesn't like to drink out of a plastic bowl and that is what we have outside for the dogs, a metal one for inside and I don't want to have to keep moving the silly thing around. Any ideas on how to get him...

Today on one of my golden boards I was reading about coconut oil. One posted that her friend's golden with allergies licked and chew feet until raw and bleeding chronic ear infections, hot spots all the time . the dog was on one of the top brands of food (I can't recall which one), but they switched...

Won't go where I want her to!

Hi, this is my first dog, at least a dog that stays in the house. I have never had to housetrain a puppy because My dogs have always been outside dogs and they would just go where they wanted to. I recently (yesterday) got a beagle mix puppy 12 weeks old. I go to school during the day, so I would prefer...

Panting/overheating?
Posted to:
Health & Grooming
I live in the Dallas-Ft. Worth TX area and have a female Schnauzer about 18 mo old. that I walk twice a day usually. She is not overweight but she seems to become overheated very quickly, showing excessive panting and sometimes stopping to rest in the shade. I am not talking about walking in 90+ degrees...

Some problems after switching to Innova
Posted to:
Nutrition & Exercise
I've recently made the switch from SD to Innova kibble. I did the switch over a 2 week period and have been feeding strictly Innova for about 3 weeks now. Both of my dogs have loose stools and 1 has very bad gas. Before the switch neither had any problems. Is this normal and will it get better...

As some of you know I have a Great Dane pup named Athena. Well we have now become informed that the person my mother bought her from she has puppy mill history, she has been banned from AKC, and she is falsifying paper work. When my mother got Athena she did think it was strange that when the lady went...

Aggressive Puppy or Normal?
Posted to:
Training & Behavior
I grew up with the most mellow Beagle on the face of the earth, so I am a bit unsure of some of my puppy's behaviors. My parents assure me that it is normal, and our dog (the beagle) was "abnormal". I have an 11 week old female yellow lab who I adore. However, I worry about a couple...

Would DHPP vaccine cause illness a week later?
Posted to:

Millie went to the vet last week and was given the DHPP, even though my mom questioned it. I don't think they really told her what she was getting either, because she thought it was just the parainfluenza vaccine. Last night she was vomitting, and had diarrhea, and today she's refusing to eat...
