Help please

I have a golden retriever lab mix. I love the dog to death except for a few problems. Today I was extremely mad at her because she chewed up my bluetooth earpiece. All I could think is "This cost more than you", and I wanted to beat her (it took every thing in me not to) but I didn't I...

HOLLY SPRINGS, N.C. -- Dog days won't be limited to summer anymore in Holly Springs, where officials have mandated that pets live safe and comfortable lives. The Town Council last week passed one of the toughest animal cruelty ordinances in the region. The new law makes it illegal to leave pets...

Vet Diets at Petsmart
Posted to:
News & Entertainment
Does anyone know if you can purchase a prescription diet at Petsmart without actually having a prescription from their Banfield vet? ( You know how Petsmart has a shelf full of special diets next to their vet's office). I am asking becuase I do not take Jetta to their Banfield office, but they do...

Literly! Gizmo was being a little too hyper tonight so I put her in her crate to calm her down Usally that works well and when I take her out 10mins later she's fine. She has many toys in there with a water bowl and food bowl. This time I look in there and she has a $20 bill in her mouth! Awww...

What Do You Think About Microchipping?
Posted to:
News & Entertainment
We're having our dogs, Emma, an Airedale, and Mojo, a Labradoodle, both 2 years old, micropchipped this Saturday. Actually I should say we're scheduled to have them microchipped, but now I'm not so sure. We like to take our dogs with us almost everywhere, and rarely we'll leave them...

Your last meal...
Posted to:
News & Entertainment
OK, if you were a prisoner on death row, what would you request for a last meal? I think I would want lobster claws diipped in lots of real butter, baked potato, corn on the cob, and my Mom's apple pie with cheese, or chocolate cake...skip the bread, please. Oh, and a pitcher of margeritas!

My dog grinds his "stuff" on the carpet!
Posted to:
Training & Behavior
I've had my dog, Bubz for about 6 months now. I got him from the SPCA and had him neutered immediately. He is continuously grinding his stomach/genitals on the carpet, even crawling down the hall grinding himself. I took him to the vet that did not think much of it, and said that maybe his stomach...

Raw Has No Nutritional Value?
Posted to:
Nutrition & Exercise
This was from another thread: The total opposite is to be said in a sense. Raw food has little to no nutritional value in it. Although some people may feed it to their dog's because it seems more natural I guess there is close to no nutritional value. Although you may not like the added nutrients...

Puppy Chews Crate Bedding ... Bad?
Posted to:
Training & Behavior
Hi. My 8-month-old Archie has gotten into the habit of chewing on the old blanket that I have as bedding in his crate. If he's in the crate, he'll gnaw on a corner of the blanket for a few minutes, then get wound up and start digging into the blanket, rearrange it, repeat, etc. He'll also...

Patchy Coat Around Eye?
Posted to:
Health & Grooming
Hi! My lab-x has fur missing around his right eye. His left one looks fine - but it looks like a fine ring around his right and it's almost bald. This doesn't seem to be happening anywhere else, just in this one spot. He did have some goopy stuff coming out of that eye a couple weeks ago but...

Opinions on electric fence, cruel or necessary?

I'm not talking about the invisible fence with the collar on the dog. I'm talking about actual electric fencing surrounding the whole yard. Just curious what people think about it.

Limping.......

About 4 months ago, my husky/lab mix jumped off of some steps onto a patch of ice and completely wiped out. She limped severely for days. I wanted to take her to the vet; however, my husband felt like she just strained something as she didn't seem to be in pain and was eating normal etc... It...
