Powder the Talking Dog
Posted to:
News & Entertainment
I'm sure there are other talking dogs! Dogs who communicate very well with people. We have one who has a large vocabulary, Powder. When I tell people, the reaction is "Oh,sure!" Even my own mother was sceptical until she saw it herself. Then she wouldn't stop asking Powder questions...

Looking for input - 4 door hatchbacks?

I grew up with Chevy/GMC is king. :) I also grew up with a saying from my dad, "Don't get a tuna fish can." He is a mechanic/body man, so he has seen some messed up cars. Having been in 2 wrecks, I can say I don't want a small car. But...cost of gas. It's a problem. Who Knew? So...

Friendship - what does it mean?
Posted to:
News & Entertainment
I have a best friend who’s been like a sister to me for over 30 years. She was married young (19) and spent 20 yrs in a difficult marriage. She had 2 beautiful children and once they were older, she divorced her husband. She met another guy soon after and despite every red flag imaginable, she married...

Isn't he beautiful? Does anybody know where I could find more like this? My dad found it hanging outside a shed that is falling apart. I washed it with soap because it was covered in mess but now it is clean.

I got nothing of the really fun stuff at the end (other than Pond Walk #2, which was Dog.com people, including me, and a couple random BCs). My camera batteries ran out - it happens every year. I saw lots[/i] of people taking pictures so, ahem, I'm hoping once I break the ice here we'll get some...

DOCTORS
Posted to:

When a panel of doctors was asked to vote on adding a new wing to their hospital, the Allergists voted to scratch it and the Dermatologists advised not to make any rash moves. The Gastroenterologists had sort of a gut feeling about it, but the Neurologists thought the administration had a lot of nerve...

Tooth fracture - root canal or removal?
Posted to:
Health & Grooming
Maggie has a "slab fracture" of one of her carnassial molars (biggest tooth in her mouth) and will be having surgery next week. The vet said she might only need a minor repair but if he sees decay on the xrays our options are root canal or removal. Any first person accounts of both options...

** Boris is back from the vet! Surgery went ok except that the vet discovered a whole bunch of sand/gravel in Boris's bladder. He said that there is a high chance that Boris will block again and then our only other option would be to put him to sleep. I hope and pray that it will not happen. Here...

New videos of Luke (NADAC)

A friend of mine just e-mailed me with some videos she took of Luke this weekend. What a nice surprise!! I was really happy in particular that she got his weavers run. This weekend he ran clean (entrances, etc.) in weavers both days but had time faults -- 0.54 on Saturday and 1.56 on Sunday. The videos...

I am wondering - Outdoor vs. Working (aDork)

I want to start this off by saying I am not trying to start an epic war. Which... seems to be my talent as of late. Anyway, I was thinking this weekend about how people here get up in arms about dogs staying outside, but not about working dogs. So what's the difference to you between a working dog...

Louie is home! He has been such a good boy so far. We went and got him Saturday morning. Louie hasn't had any accidents in the house yet, but I've been watching him pretty closely. He's starting to "go" on command. When you say go potty, he usually is going within the minute. He...
