Digging up Yard
Our 8 month old male cockapoo sometimes (but not always) when let outside to do his business will have the tendency to pull up the grass in chunks and chew it and eat it. Any ideas on how to deter this behaviour? Will I have to go back to having to go out with him every single time with a leash on him...

Mic and other trainers...
I was reading on another thread about prey drive. Crusher has next to none so far. He will lay in the back yard with chickadees pecking the ground all around him! Crusher's bro on the other hand is a hunter. He has also started chasing cars. BAD NEWS I know. So my friend has decided to put up...

Confined = no poop. Unconfined = repeated poops!
I have a sweet 9 month old male (neutered) pomeranian (about 5lb); I've owned him for 6 months. When I got him I made some serious mistakes for which I am still "paying". I feed him a handful of slightly moistened Innova at 5am and 5pm. I almost never give him anything else (very occasional...

Training Schedule of exercises?
I was wondering if anyone has put together a type of training schedule that they use to keep track of progress and frequency. For example: Monday: Sit-(three times with treats)/Stay-(three times with treats) Tuesday: Down-(three times: treat every other instance) Wen: Fetch-(three times with treats...

Multi-pet homes??
Hi-- I was wondering if anyone here on the forum has other pets besides just your dogs. And I don't mean dogs and cats-- as they have a closely woven history with one another. Rather, does anyone have any other small pets? My wife has a bunny, Charlie, who has free reign of our tv room. He is a lop...

Territorial towards stuff he never was before!
Hello! I'm new to this forum and I was wondering if anyone could help me! My 11 month old Australian Shepherd has been acting VERY weird lately. He's always had a problem with being very protective of his food towards our other 15 year old American Eskimo, but we've taken care of that by...

Really Scared Dog Please share suggestions
I copied this over from the old board: We have a huge problem with nails. Mattie used to love being brushed. She did not like having her nails trimmed but always let me do it without much of a problem. She has had a bad experience with a groomer. The groomer said she tried to bite her while having...

I was wondering if anyone could help me out. We got a Schnauzer at 6 months old(neutered male)..now 1 year. Making Progress (Dog-Dog Aggression)
As some of you may know, Sierra has aggression issues with other dogs. I have a good feeling that it's fear-aggression fueled by the time when I was living with my parents (Sierra was about 6 months old) and their neighbor's all-around aggressive,off-leash Border Collie attacked her in my parents...

A cockapoo whom I love, but...
I might kill her. She has the most adorable little face and reminds me of a muppet. Anyway-- we're getting a hang of the housetraining but she has her accidents. However, when she does have an accident I get really mad at her. And though I don't physically hurt her, the tone of my voice makes...

Teaching to fetch?
Hi All, I have been trying to teach Gizmo (my 10 9 mo old Bruss Griff) how to fetch, but he is not catching on. Every time I toss something and say "Fetch!", he gives me this absurd look like "Why, in heavens name, are you throwing something of mine???" and then he does go and...

need advice - rough lab
Molly and her pal, Beau, get along really well. Molly definitely sees Beau as an equal and packmate. Enter our newest walking/play buddy, an 8 month old yellow Lab named Jackson. Jackson is large - not as tall as Molly but taller than Beau. Jackson probably weighs 70+ pounds....fat. I did talk to...

Cat Roaming-Doggy door
Hi Guys, I have a friend at work who has 3 cats and 2 dogs. One of the cats has started roaming around the neighborhood by leaving thru the doggy door. It's a new behavior I'm told and the other cats don't do it. I'm told their all fixed and they even bought one of those shock collars...
