Ground beef casserol?????
I always have Open House on New Years Day. I do nothing but appitizers and pizza....and its a lot of work and takes up a lot of room for all the dishes. This year instead of making some of the appitizers and dips...I decided to make a pan of something like Macaroini and Ground beef... I used to make...

Oranges?
You know those little oranges that come out at Christmas time? Satsumas, I think. Are they okay for dogs?

My JRT is such a fussy eater - we're at our wits' end!
Gemma is just over seven months old and is becoming more and more fussy about mealtimes. She will gladly eat treats of any kind but when it comes to her proper meals she merely sniffs it and walks away. She was eating fresh chicken and rice but turns her nose up at that now. Currently we are playing...

Training the ACD to work cows?
I have a 7 month old ACD pup. He has incredible herding instinct and has proved most helpful while moving our cattle. Since we'll be expanding our beef cattle operation, he could prove to be a useful tool and co-worker. He is currently working well simply from instinct, but I want to train him better...

Does anyone else use *** Van Pattens food?
I just started buying it about a month or two ago and my dogs LOVE it. I buy the big roll that looks like a summer sausage for them and give it to them in the morning on top of their dry food. They LOVE it and I've already noticed a big change in their coats. Much shinier and softer. Has anyone else...

HK's Keen was a big hit
I ordered a 4 oz travel bag of Keen and Preference from HK to try out. I whipped up the Keen last night. And it was a big hit for the dogs. 4 oz made enough to feed all 3 dogs for 1 day. Noticed no gas, poops are good this morning as well. I have yet to make a batch of Pref. yet, as I don't...

feeding puppy formula to adult dog
Hello all, I have been searching for a food that doesn't give my manchester terrier gas and diarrhea, and finally found one. It is one of the supermarket brands of canned food, which I know is not ideal, but gas and diarrhea isn't ideal either! It is also a puppy formula. Is that ok to feed...

Crock Pot Chicken??
Some of you have posted about how you cook chicken in a crock pot for your dogs until the bones are mushy. I've always fed my girls boneless, skinless chicken breast mainly because it's the least fatty chicken meat, but they had chicken at Albertson's for .75/lb so I got a large package of...

Dehydrating Liver
Just wondering if anybody has ever done this. I see at the local pet food store they are selling small bags for a couple bucks. I made beef jerky for the dogs all the time. Also just wondering about fruit jerky.....any ideas? Thanks, Johnny & Tessy

Chewing kibble
Okay, so like most hairless Chinese Cresteds, Chloe doesn't have all her teeth. Previously, this hasn't been a problem. Recently, she's decided that chewing her kibbles takes valuable time away from scoping out whether the other two pups have kibble left she can steal. To save time, she's...

Holy Coat Bloom!
So I ran out of PetGuard a couple weeks ago, and didn't bother re-ordering any. I dug out my old, tattered Home Prepared Dog/Cat Diets by Strombeck and just started doing the recipes after I collected the needed ingredients and pet tabs. They're also getting RMB's 2-3 times a week. ...

Knuckle bone
I have been giving Gibby raw marrow bones with the marrow taken out...just bones to chew on. Today I bought him a giant knuckle bone...you can almost NEVER find them around here. I am hoping it will help with a little tartar. But it looks like a ton of marrow on the bones...didn't think knuckle bones...

Butchering a cow...which bones to give the dogs?
A relative of mine is having one of their grass-fed cows butchered, and they have said I could have some of the bones for my dogs. However, I'm not really sure which bones to ask for. Any suggestions?

Can't believe I'm doing this...
I'm actually entering Caleb in an AKC sanctioned obedience match next month (that's assuming they haven't reached the limit yet). I'm just going to do Rally instead of traditional Obedience, tho. All I've ever done are show-n-goes/fun matches. So, now I have to make heads or tails...

Schutzhund Practice Video of Rafe & Soda
Hey guys! It's been a while, but thought I'd drop in again since I finally got a decent video of Rafe's schutzhund work. http://www.facebook.com/v/574636586991 It was basically just a "see where we all are" practice trial. The retreive over the jump obviously needs work (this was...

Chicken and Duck
Chicken and Duck, could they cause the same problems since they are both poultry. Pella can not have chicken, causes all kinds of problems. Could she eat duck, I would like to give her another option other than grain free, chicken free EP, so thought I would try duck and sweet potatoe.
