Does anyone else use *** Van Pattens food?

I just started buying it about a month or two ago and my dogs LOVE it.  I buy the big roll that looks like a summer sausage for them and give it to them in the morning on top of their dry food.  They LOVE it and I've already noticed a big change in their coats.  Much shinier and softer.  Has anyone else tried it?  What do you think of it?

yes mine have been on it for quite a while and done wonderful.  My APBT has food allergies, but does fine on the chicken formula, and my Akita has a very sensitive stomach, but he too does fine on the chicken (Ultra Premium), although i have tried the duck and the venison as well to change up the flavor occasionally.  Its done wonderful for their coats, stools, and they seem to enjoy it.  I use the rolls as treats lol.. cut it up and put them in a baggy, the dogs go nuts!

We love the Natural Balance LID Sweet Potato and Fish formula!

Monty, our Wire Fox Terrier rescue, suffered with severe colitis for over a year and a half, with numerous vet visits, eating prescription food, medications - and nothing seemed to "cure" it.  After extensive reading on the internet, I began to suspect that his problem might be an allergy to chicken.  Rather than putting him on the vet's suggestion, Science Diet Z/D, I decided to try a Natural Balance allergy formula .  It has literally changed Monty's life!

From the day I started feeding it to him, he has not had one episode of diarrhea.  No gas.  Firm stools.  Happy and healthy.

It's been truly amazing (and wonderful). Smile

Wow, thats great to hear.  Neither of my dogs seem to have any allergies, and are both pretty healthy, but I have noticed how much healthier they look and act since switching them to this food.  Also, they are both big dogs (120 and almost 60 pounds) and this food is lasting so much longer than any other!  I'm really excited about it.  Friends have come over and commented immediately on how healthy and shiny they look.  That always makes me so proud.  It's good to know that it's worked so well for other people too.

Caleb's beenon the LID foods for about a year and half now.  They've done wonders for his food issues.  I've always cut the food rolls up into little pieces and used them as training treats.  I keep the pieces in the freezer, tho, so it lasts longer.  I pull out made 2-3 slices at a time, and cut them into little pieces for training.

THAT is totally stupid.... and should not have happened that you can't write a persons name.

That said...I wish I would have looked into this.  For a few reasons. I am just now changing Gibson from Eagle Pack.... my choices were Blue, Natual Balance or Califonia Natural.  I DID go with the California Natural because of the fact that it has so few different ingredients..and since Gibby has a touchy stomach...maybe that is best. I purchased it, but haven't changed over yet...so we will see.  BUT I hadn't thought about the roll...just was thinking kibble when deciding...and since I really don't like kibble...maybe I need to go back to the drawing board. Too late now maybe....but I have to look into this.  You know I did look into Fresh Pet because its not kibble..but really can't afford it and not sure its the bests food anyway.

But..... I do feed Gibby BilJac Frozen to try to get his weight up a bit.....and he eats that soft food sooooooooooo fast....does your dogs eat theirs fast?

Yes, my dachshund has been on the Ultra Premium for over a year now, and she does better on that food than any other.  Nice firm poops, and it's one of the only foods she doesn't get bored of.

Yes, they do.  They DEVOUR it.  But I guess I just attribute that to them loving it.... and they only get it once a day, in the morning, so I let them be greedy.  Typically they're not like that.

Yes! This is this food I changed my cairn over to after he refused to eat Solid Gold food a little over a year ago.  He has had a more sensitive stomach as he ages.  Solid Gold was good for him until they changed something in the ingredients.  Anyway I tried DVP's Natural Balance Original Ultra and he loves it.  He also gets the DVP canned food and treats.  His coat is super shiny, he has no doggy odor, and poops are small and firm.  I reccomend this food, especially for dogs with sensitive stomach issures.  I am very happy with the DVP line of dog food.

I use the LID cans for Pirate during parts of the year, when we're coming into 'seizure season' (yes, his seizures have seasons!) because it's got the fewest ingredients = less seizure triggers. It's a little low in protien % for my liking, and they've only recently come out with the grain-free roll. In previous years I've upped the protein with home cooked but we'll see how it works out.

I really like the 'small bites' kibbles for food-dispensing toys -- teeny pieces. It looks almost like cat food!

But, that all was probably more than you wanted to know :)

And, Spiritdogs, I think it's starring out the nickname for Richard, LOL.

AND (I forgot!) I also have used the food rolls to bribe my old lady into eating when she goes on a hunger strike. It's SO STINKY and she looooves it!

LOL  I did the same thing with Mick.  But, since I used it as treats, too, he thought he was getting cookies.  LOL
